It's the World's Strongest, Most Expensive Beer -- Inside a Squirrel (Asylum)
Jul 22nd 2010 6:25PM They aren't selling "beer". Normal yeasts only go up to about 23%. They are selling freeze distilled malt liquor. These people are idiots.

Test Tube Meat: Would You Eat It? (Slashfood)
Jul 9th 2010 4:11PM From what I understand, you don't get the marbling that fat, veins, and muscle grain give to a good cut of meat. It would essentially be texture-less like a big hunk o' seitan. I think I'll stick with my filet mignon, thanks.

Gun-Control Debate Brews at Starbucks (Slashfood)
Mar 7th 2010 9:52AM If you go through the application, cost and training to carry a gun, you are making the effort to keep people safe, not to go on a shooting rampage. I applaud Starbucks for standing up for the law and the safety of their communities.

No Fear: "Bad" Beer (Slashfood)
Apr 2nd 2009 7:19PM I am so glad that you added Schlits, which is $9.99 at cvs pharmacy.
That said, Miller bought them out and is going to release the original recipe in bottles. I wouldn't hold your breath for cheap delicious beer. -
The New York Times on Vodka: The Cheap Stuff Is Just as Good (Slashfood)
Mar 31st 2009 8:06AM I used to do tastings professionally for work. People couldn't pick their favorite expensive vodka that they swore by compared to a middle shelf brand. We didn't use bottom shelf brands because they tend to be distilled or filtered less. Svedka and Moskovskaya are my favorites for the price.

Is It Wrong to Market Sugar as 'Healthy'? (Slashfood)
Mar 23rd 2009 10:35PM As someone with blood sugar problems, I can assure you that sugar > HFCS. HFCS causes crashes while sugar can be a natural booster as long as it is managed. The occasional Mexican or Kosher coke is great for management of blood sugar!

Do You Use a Recipe When Making Dinner? (Slashfood)
Mar 22nd 2009 4:24PM We only have basic ingredients lying around the house for the most part. When we see a recipe that we fancy, we do a variation on it based on our tastes and favorite spices.

Sierra Nevada Torpedo Extra IPA Reviewed (Slashfood)
Mar 9th 2009 8:43PM This is my new favorite beer. I love the balance of the varieties of hops, compared to the stereotypical cascade hops.
