  • Gin Notes: Tanqueray Rangpur Gin (Slashfood)

Mar 31st 2007 2:34PM I tried this- It was sickeningly sweet and tasted surypy. I like my gin crisp and fresh, not sweet and syrupy.

  • New flavors from Larabar (Slashfood)

Feb 22nd 2007 5:23PM Ugh, I bought and ate every single one of their flavors when they came out. They are all bad. Like sawdust and dried fruits stuck together with paste. I don't understand raw foods diet people. The whole thing seems crazy to me. Heat is necessary to eat so many things, like potatoes. Silly health food addictions.

Luna bars taste ok but most bars IMO seem to be pretty poor nutricion wise. Full of fat and preservitives- might as well eat a snickers bar.

  • Pepperoni Pizza Soup (Slashfood)

Nov 8th 2006 5:26PM This sound terrible. I imaging eating this and walkin garound for an hour or two wanting to vomit.

  • It's difficult to land a gaming job even with formal education (Joystiq)

Aug 29th 2006 9:37PM Speaking of connections, when you get your first job, don't burn bridges. Everybody that can hire you knows everybody you used to work with. The games industy community is extremely interwoven. (If Kevin Bacon worked in the games industry it would be the 3 degrees of separation from Kevin Bacon.)

  • It's difficult to land a gaming job even with formal education (Joystiq)

Aug 29th 2006 9:14PM Game development is not nearly as fun or creative as people seem to think. I've been in a bunch of different design/artist positions- Aside from the few smaller companies I have worked for, you essentially are a cog in someone elses grand design.
The other thing is just about everyone in the industry is looking to be in charge of some aspect of design and has grand ideas for a kick ass videogame. And competition for these positions are even more fierce.
Honestly, working in games is a lot closer to having a position in data entry than anything else. Just instead of spreadsheets you work in polygons and scripts.

Everytime you boot up the computer a prompt comes up "You have no right to privacy on this network. Everything you do is being recorded, and is property of Electronic Arts. Blah blah blah, legal stuff, blah blah blah."

    *Shiver* Soulless hellhole.
