iPod touch unboxed and, um, touched (Engadget)
Oct 3rd 2007 8:59AM hey well got my i pod touch yesterday I'm in NZ bought online and some how managed to get it 2 weeks before it's released retail weird!!!!
Anyway, I love it but I have 2 Bitches,,,, #1 why cant I download or save images from safari.. #2 the Calendar, why cant I add appointments via the i pod?!>
It seems obvious to me these missed points, so it must be obvious to apple. Why have they chosen to opt out these basic features? -

Remember the No-Knead Bread (Slashfood)
Sep 14th 2007 5:12AM I use a similar technique for a semi kneed bread.
60% water 40% (by weight +/-10%) salt oil sugar yeast. mix, leave for 24 to 48 hours, feed with flour and then leave another 24hours. then usually I use a beater with a dough hook and give it a good 15 min or so, until it's workable coat in flour shape and back, good airy bread almost ciabatta like -

Happy National Chicken Month! (Slashfood)
Sep 7th 2007 12:05PM have to say family guy, the most funny satire/cartoon on telly, and probably the most disturbing, but there needs to be something like that on telly!!!!
anyway, I thought I'd share my no fuss easy dinner in my post to tie in with you Americans and the fact that I have been house sitting (house and teenage boy sitting)....
anyways.... easy as filler uppper 20mins!
Chicken pieces (breasts if ya have to!, thighs are the best) about 1 per person + 1-3 depending on numbers,
Red Curry Paste (tablespoons) x Num Ppl ish
potatoes (agria/waxy) diced
coconut milk, 2-3 ppl = 1/2 can 4-6 = 1 can
kaffir lime leaves to taste
lime juice
chicken stock
olive oil
rice
water
salt
---
cook ya rice the way ya like it, and the rice ya like....
brown, well seal and and add colour to the chicken in the olive oil, thrown the curry paste in stir around a bit)
Chuck the potatoes in and stir.
whack in the leaves, the juice of lime and zest.
get it all sizzling and smelling great, if you want more spice chuck in some chilli now and and get those oils flowing!
after the flavor infusion, throw the stock in, you want it soupyish, so prob about 1 liter for 3 people. and let simmer for 20minish until potatoes& chicken are cooked.
Then add coconut milk, and heat till hot/warm
Serve with Roti and rice.
This is a quick good dinner or a make in advance and chill/freeze reheat dinner. and oh so so yummy -
What to do with fresh tumeric root? (Slashfood)
Sep 7th 2007 11:49AM mm, you know pickled tumeric, with fresh tuna sashimi (spelling), & wasabi I imagine an awsome combo, am going to have to try!!!!
feel foolish for forgetting the leaves!!!, as a above post, a nice fleshy white fish, coconut, chilli , shallots/spring onions & garli wrapped in the leaf and steam, or put on the BBQ perfection!!
I'll have to get to the indian markets and get some fresh root to pickle -
