Nov 14th 2008 12:18PM This is a round take on an old Midwestern baby/bridal shower classic: sandwich loaf (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sandwich_loaf).
You slice the bread lengthwise and slather on ham, egg, and tuna salad in between the layers. Many people "frost" it with colored cream cheese. Every family has their traditional way of doing it. -

Jul 25th 2007 4:07PM I disagree with chaosotter. Most of these tips ARE actually about consideration of others. These are tips -- besides "don't eat out with your kids" -- that are designed to keep your kids happy, quiet, and considerate.
They're far from complete, though. One of them should definitely be "Be prepared to walk out at any time." Give your credit card to the waiter beforehand and let the kids know that bad behavior means everybody's going home. And mean it. -
Cooking dinner quickly (Slashfood)
Jul 16th 2007 9:44AM Substitute "dad" and there's nothing retrograde about a parent deciding that home-cooked meals eaten together are good for their family.
Some families make time for bike rides or sports games or movie nights together. Some come together around the dinner table. And Slashfood is exactly the kind of place where people will understand that.
