Gripe Water: Time-Honored Remedy for Colic or Myth? (ParentDish)
Jun 20th 2011 2:04PM If your child has colic, find a chiropractor that sees children. Most of the babies that I have seen have resolved their colic in about a week.

Try This: Getting Kids Out of Bed in the Morning (ParentDish)
Mar 30th 2011 4:11PM My Grandmother kept glass marbles in the freezer. If one of her kids didn't get out of bed the 1st or second time they were called, she lifted the sheets and tossed in the marbles. Because the body makes an indent in the mattress, the marbles follow you wherever you roll. It worked for my aunt and uncle.

Jay Leno Almost Makes Kanye West Cry (PopEater)
Sep 15th 2009 1:34PM Kanye's outburst at the MTV awards had nothing to do with Taylor or Beyonce - it was all about Kanye. When was the last time he was in the media? Now, everyone is talking about him and he gets a spot on Leno. I don't care for his public persona or his music, but give the man credit - he knows his marketing and any publicity is good publicity.

What Can I Get You Folks? - The Great Doggie Bag Debate (Slashfood)
Sep 8th 2009 2:56PM I don't have a problem boxing my own leftovers. I always thought the servers did this for their own protection. 10+ years ago a server at my favorite italian restaurant was boxing my leftovers and somehow they ended up on the floor. Against my protests, the manager made her box an entire new meal for me and (though I can't be sure)I was very concerned that this was taken out of her pay. I have been very happy to put my own leftovers away ever since.

Jolie Gets the Nude Statue Treatment (PopEater)
Aug 5th 2009 4:52PM Howard, how incredibly unenlightened and hateful. Breastfeeding is not gross. It is the most natural and best way to feed a baby. It is what the human breast was designed for, not being the star in the Playboy centerfold. Get help for your issues and enjoy life.

Lawsuit: Catholic Nurse Forced to Assist in Late-Term Abortion (Politics Daily)
Jul 28th 2009 11:56AM Freedom is not consequence-free. She was free to refuse; she just didn't want to face the consequences. This is what is wrong with our entire society- the prevailing notion that everything we do should be without consequence.

'What Is That?' - Restaurant Ogling Etiquette (Slashfood)
May 8th 2009 11:02AM It depends on why you want to know. If it looks scary, ask the waiter. If it looks good, say something like, "Excuse me, but your dish looks divine. Do you mind if I ask what it is?" When you phrase it as a compliment, people take it as one, even if they had nothing to do with it other than order. I'm from NW Pennsylvania and we're about as uptight as it gets here. I don't think it would offend anyone.

Really? Really? No ... Really? (Slashfood)
Mar 31st 2009 11:57AM I have the 1964 (?) Good Housekeeping cookbook with a recipe for A Man's Fried Chicken. Also, there is quite an introduction about how even a single lady should never take a bite until she is seated at a properly set table, complete with a flower or other decoration and nice music!

Nudie Quilts Create Quite a Stir (Lemondrop)
Mar 9th 2009 2:44PM I read the article to which you are referring. It was hardly pornographic. The "baby taking a peek out of his mama's lady parts" was cute and subtle. I didn't pick up on the anatomy issue until reading the description. Its not my style of quilting, but then again I don't consider myself an artist. And since when is Quilters Home a "family magazine?" Mark is quirky and blunt and not appropriate for the preschool demographic.

Is Arlen Specter Leaving The Republican Party? (Politics Daily)
Mar 9th 2009 2:16PM Senator Specter has been a Democrat in Republican clothing for a long time. He might as well make it official.
