Free Starbucks coffee on Earth DayPhoto: Starbucks

Here's a pretty irresistible Earth Day offer from Starbucks: Bring in a reusable travel mug, get a free brewed coffee.

Last year the company ran the same offer and claims to have saved a million paper cups. Which is no small change.

And just in case you're wondering, you can get a 10-cent discount on your coffee every day at Starbucks when you bring in your own mug.

Free Ice Cream Cone Day at Ben & Jerry's

The only thing better than ice cream is free ice cream. On Tuesday, April 12th, Ben & Jerry's scoop shops are offering free cones from noon to 8 p.m.

Why the sudden generosity? It's the company's 33rd birthday, and it's also an opportunity for them to showcase their newest flavors, from the Jimmy-Fallon-inspired Late Night Snack (vanilla with caramel and fudge-covered potato chips) to Clusterfluff (peanut butter ice cream with caramel clusters and marshmallow swirls). If you want to savor the anticipation, you can browse the whole flavor list.

Check for nearby shops on the website's scoop shop locator before you head out. Just be prepared: There will be lines. And yes, it will be worth it.

Celebrate National Pi(e) Day

Key Lime PiePhoto: Jupiterimages

March 14 is National Pi Day, a holiday officially recognized by the U.S. government since 2009. The Greek letter "pi" is the symbol for the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter (You might remember it as the never-ending series of numbers you learned in school that start with 3.14....). To celebrate, many restaurants and stores are rolling out specials on pie.

Here are the ones we've rounded up:

Whole Foods Markets' Midwestern stores are participating in a promotion by selling an entire fresh-baked apple, blueberry and cherry pie for $3.14. Each store is offering its own take on the promotion, in addition to the $3.14 pies. At the Milwaukee store, for example, Whole Foods Market will also retail two slices of pizza pie for the sum of $3.14.

Starbucks New Coffees and A Birthday Gift for Customers

Starbucks new products for 40th anniversaryPhoto: Starbucks

Starbucks -- which today celebrates 40 years in the coffee biz -- may be solidly middle aged but, with a few new products launching, they'd prefer to think of it as the prime of life.

Going global for Starbucks means it's debuting its revamped Siren logo, in four stores: the Solana store in Beijing, Avenue de l'Opéra in Paris, Brompton Road in London, and Times Square in New York City (plus a special launch in Seattle).

But enough of the Siren. What about the coffee? See the new brews and Starbucks giveaway after the jump.

Chick-fil-A's 'FryDay' Waffle Fries Giveaway

Heinz is rolling out a new ketchup container to replace their ubiquitous little packets, and Chick-fil-A is celebrating the new "Dip & Squeeze" ketchup by offering free waffle fries to customers tomorrow from 2-4 p.m. During the two-hour window, it's "Free FryDay:" All you have to do is ask for a Heinz Dip & Squeeze ketchup at the counter and they'll hand over a medium waffle fries to go with it.

But while the free fries are nice, we're way more excited about this ketchup innovation: We can't believe it's taken a ketchup company so long to make a ketchup container that you can dip your fries into. It may be a small luxury, but we'll take it.

Hooters Valentine: A Wing, Not a Ring

In what seems like a cruel trick intended to lure a certain breed of romantically inept male to relationship doom, Hooters is touting itself as the perfect Valentine's Day destination. The tagline for the overly buxom restaurant chain's V-Day promotion? "Forget the ring and bring her in for wings."

Aww...just what every lucky lady wants to hear on the most romantic day of the year. Who needs a Hallmark card, chocolate and flowers when you can give her a plate of 20 wings for the price of 10 and a side of...well, you know what.

The Super Bowl Means Restaurant Deals

Whether you're rooting for the Steelers or Green Bay (or just the commercials), it's likely you'll tune into the Super Bowl this Sunday. (More than 106 million Americans watched the game last year.) Restaurant owners know the big game equals big business, so you can find all sorts of deals this weekend in honor of Sunday's big showdown.

Hosting a game-day party? You might want to consider serving pizza, since Papa John's, the "official pizza" partner for Super Bowl XLV, is conducting a sweepstakes for anyone who places an online order between 10am and 9:59 pm EST. As reported in Nation's Restaurant News, the chain is giving away $45 gift cards every 45 seconds, and offering $10 large pizzas all day. In addition, registering for "Papa Points" will win you a free large pizza if the game goes into overtime. Pizza Hut, too, is introducing a party option with its "Big Dipper" pizza, $12 for 24 strips of pizza and 4 cups of tomato sauce for dipping.

Papa John's Deal: Super Bowl Overtime Means Free Pizza

Papa John's has announced what may be the biggest free giveaway ever: free pizzas to everyone in America if this year's Super Bowl goes into overtime.

Sounds impressive and sort of mind-boggling, right? We had visions of frenzied Papa John's employees across the country trying to juggle a deluge of calls the second the extra quarter began, the smell of singed mozzarella in the air, and the urgent, tragic cry: "We're out of pepperoni, man!"

Well, not quite. This being an offer from a nationwide chain, the battle plan is a little more orderly than that. True, everyone in America (age 13 and up) is eligible for the offer, but you have to register online at www.papajohns.com and become part of the chain's Papa Points program by 11:59 p.m. on February 5, the day before the game. Then, on February 7, enrollees will receive 25 Papa Points, which is the amount needed to order a free large, three-topping pizza, if Super Bowl XLV goes into overtime.

And that's a big "if" since, as loyal fans know, no Super Bowl in history has ever gone into OT.
