Starbucks -- which today celebrates 40 years in the coffee biz -- may be solidly middle aged but, with a few new products launching, they'd prefer to think of it as the prime of life.
Going global for Starbucks means it's debuting its revamped Siren logo, in four stores: the Solana store in Beijing, Avenue de l'Opéra in Paris, Brompton Road in London, and Times Square in New York City (plus a special launch in Seattle).
But enough of the Siren. What about the coffee? See the new brews and Starbucks giveaway after the jump.
Tired of the same old Cinnamon Dolce Latte or Caramel Macchiato? Here are Starbucks' new high-octane beverages, plus a sweet treat.
For chocolate fiends: Combining fresh espresso, bittersweet mocha sauce, steamed milk and foam, the new Cocoa Cappuccino is also topped with a mocha drizzle.
For beanheads: Four different coffee beans, including Aged Sumatra, Sun-dried Ethiopian, and beans from Papua New Guinea and Colombia, go into making the Starbucks Tribute Blend. The company is also doing this blend as a VIA Ready Brew (a.k.a. instant coffee). Read our review of Starbucks VIAs. (Plus, check out the new Starbucks VIA guarantee.)
Starbucks would love it if you forgot about coffee-and-a-donut as the go-to afternoon combo. Their Siren song consists of the new Starbucks Petites, eight tiny sweets that include Cake Pops (available in Birthday Cake, Rocky Road and Tiramisu flavors), Red Velvet Whoopie Pies, Mini Cupcakes (Carrot Cake and Peanut Butter) and Sweet Squares (Lemon and Salty Caramel).
On March 10, 11 and 12 from 2-5 p.m. local time, grab the Starbucks beverage of your choice and receive a complimentary Petites treat. Happy Birthday to you.
