Wendy's New "Dave's Hot 'n' Juicy Cheeseburger" and Sea-Salt Fries

For Wendy's, what happens in Vegas will hopefully not stay in Vegas. The company is testing a new burger, named after its founder, the late Dave Thomas, in the gambling capital of the U.S., according to Nation's Restaurant News. What does Dave's Hot 'n' Juicy Cheeseburger have that Wendy's other cheeseburgers don't? It's "a thicker quarter-pound patty," reports NRM, and has "new ingredients, like crinkle-cut pickles on a buttered, toasted bun." Will it come to your town? Depends on if Wendy's gamble pays off.

The new spokesperson for the Dave burger is the original Wendy, Dave's daughter, Wendy Thomas, who's now all

grown up. Back when she was eight years old, she recalls in an interview with the Las Vegas Sun, there was a photo shoot and she had to sit for for hours in her trademark blue-checked dress. "My mom stuck pipe cleaners in my pigtails to make them stick straight up, and I smiled so much that my face hurt by the end. It was a painful process."

What could bring a smile to Wendy Thomas's face these days would be the success of the new fries the company also launches this week. For those of you who like potatoes au natural, Wendy's revamped fries are skin-on, thin, and seasoned with sea salt. We're going to test a batch and report back in a couple of days.

The last time I ate at Wendy's which has been a few years now, the buns were cold, the meat dry and the overall taste was lousy, and their french fries seemed under cooked. Glad to see they are offering a toasted bun for their hamburgers. Makes a world of difference in taste, but I also hope they understand that not everyone wants a double 1/4 pound burger to eat. Good luck Wendy's. Hope you can bring it back up to the standards your founder intended it to have.

How hard is it to make a dubble cheese burger with extra pickel, onion, and mustard and nothing else, I can not stand Ketchup (one of the few I guess) but the counter people always add ketchup or tomato, lettuce ect, ect. I always take it back and they through the one I return away and make a new one with a polite sorry sir we will make you a fresh one,the second one is not always correct either. I travel the country and have been in lots of Wendys and will make bets before hand on my getting a correct order. A toasted bun would be nice also. Sorry Wendys,I like the burgers but the counter help is a real mess,NATION WIDE!

you need to cook to supply and stop using those heat lamps.
at mac i test the fries and rarely have to tell them they are limp. most are to hot to eat coming out of the window.

The sea salt is nauseating, and having the skin-on is not crisp like you would expect. I've tried them a couple of times to see if maybe it was a fluke. It made me REALLY miss the old fries.

And in my area, if you want the order to be correct, it has to be ordered inside, their drive through is pathetic, slow, and brainless.

Just awful and young lady taking orders inside needed to learn a few basic manners & not act as though she was a princess. Tried another Wendy's in Casselberry, FL. Mom likes that awful spicy chicken sandwich...why, I'll never know. Got it plain to take home for her. $4.25+ approximately. I thought it was a mistake until I called another Wendy's to confirm the price was right for the "sandwich." Confirmed. Dried out, nasty flavor, nasty, nasty, nasty. Give me a Chick-Fillet (sorry for misspell ... can't recall @ 4 a.m.)...3 piece, no fries, no nothing. Just basic chicken and tastes like chicken. If we have to do drive through and not local eateries, we go to Chickie-Filly now...mom has caught on to the awfulness of the other places (finally)....
