Sandra Lee is NY's First Lady

Yesterday Andrew Cuomo was elected governor of New York State, which means, as Eater pointed out, that his girlfriend semi-scary, Semi-Homemade Food Network Star Sandra Lee is now Semi-First Lady-Elect of the grand state of New York.

A couple of weeks ago she told the AP she wasn't worried about becoming the state's first lady -- the only thing she wanted to be is "first lady of cookbooks right now." The 44-year-old Lee was promoting her new book, "The Complete Cookbook."

With Lee and Cuomo's busy schedules, Lee says the key to seeing each other is organization. Lee was also quoted as saying that she and Cuomo, "...just have fun. We're normal people. We're kind of boring, actually."

Hmmm, do normal, boring people have lasagna cook-offs with their semi-mother-in-laws? This past summer Matilda Cuomo told NY1 there's no way her son prefers Lee's lasagna to her own. Lee's recipe uses non-traditional ingredients like canned tomato soup, cottage cheese, and apple cider vinegar instead of things like fresh ricotta cheese. In a September interview with the Charlotte Observer, Ms. Lee said, "Matilda stayed at my house this weekend. I told her we should do a lasagne bake-off and raise money for children's charities. She said yes -- after the election."

Well, it's officially post-election....we can't wait to see the lasagna drama unfold, perhaps in the New York State Executive Mansion.

She is Mr.Cuomo's ladyfriend , not wife. As far as I've seen they are not even talking about changing that.

I wish them well but I think the first lady title is too much too soon.
