This is not the way I prepare the good steaks for me. When I can I start with a whole sirloin & bring it to room temperature first, then grill it on all sides to rare. Then let it rest on the counter, and slice it into 1/4" (quarter inch) thick slices...it melts in your mouth.....Alfred-

Mario is a very talented cook, and for the person who called him names, he has recently lost a lot of weight, and who in thier right mind judges a person from the outside, he is a very nice man. I wish I lived in New York and could shop at his store, it looks awesome and the fresh seafood would be delightful. Being from Denver, out in the middle of the plains, we cant get anything like that. Good job Mario

9-06-2010 @12:09PM Frank said... Yes he did, it was called DDL Foodshow and was nowhere near the scale of Eataly in size and variety of products offered. It was the only store while Eataly is one of several in Italy and one in Japan. The original, in Torino, is in an old Fiat factory and it's HUGE! I think the reason for DDL Foodshow's failure is that it came along when there were not as many food-crazed people around, there was no such thing as a celebrity chef, no Food Network and America hadn't, "discovered," Italian food as yet.
