Just look at the latest weapon in this summer's restaurant arms race to create the most outrageous, decadent, thumb-your-nose-in-the-face-of-an-obesity-epidemic sandwich: the NY Pizza Burger from Burger King. Yes, it's a freakish hybrid between a burger and a pizza.
According to Nation's Restaurant News, the NY Pizza Burger will only be available at BK's new Whopper Bar in New York City, which seems appropriate because it's only among the skyscrapers of Manhattan that the architectural scale of the Pizza Burger seems to make any sense.
Here's what it is: four quarter-pound Whopper patties topped with mozzarella cheese, marinara sauce, and a "pesto-flavored but nut-free 'Tuscan Herb Mayo,'" all on a 9.5-inch bun. And true to the pizza form, the monster is sliced into six wedges and is meant to be shared.
Each "slice": 400 calories, bringing it to a total of 2,400 calories.
Forget the mushroom cloud: the end of civilization as we know it may simply be topped with mushrooms.

But my best is the Strammer Max burger. Someday I'll explain it....Alfred-

When I was as BK about 4 years ago, even thier coffee was crap.
Make's you wonder if management knows, or cares for that matter, what they are doing!

When you can be a burden of higher premiums to people with insurance.
Just eat the sandwich, get sick, throw it up and make Burger King those big profits!

Personally, it doesn't sound that good to me, but I will NOT tell the next guy, he can't have one or look down my nose at him for enjoying something that is not MY choice!!

"If I am in the mood for a heart attack and/or double, triple, quadruple, quintuple heart bypass surgery." ~~~ You can have one or all of those things eating nothing but tree bark and berries too. Look up a guy named Jim Fixx...he'd tell you....if he could......There are health food nuts that get cancer at 29 and smokers that live to be 100 and doctors have no idea why.... They just figure if they tell you to eat "right" and exercise, it can't hurt....but, you can drop dead just the same.
8-19-2010 @3:18PM Dawn said... That is cruel! I mean i understand that no one conciders food addiction to be an actual addiction, but this is just sick! One of those would feed you for 2 days! You could eat one slice as a meal itself and eat it 3 times a day for 2 whole days!!! If you were a perfectly healthy person and had the mental capacity to tell yourself to stop. But holy sh*t!!! The poor food addicts and obese kids and stuff!! The only hope is that they can't afford this crap!! If only it was cheaper to eat whole foods and stuff that isn't processed...but no they make that cost more than this crap!! No wonder people make the wrong food choices. It is kind of made for us in the cost of eating isn't it? ...so wrong

Way back when each fast food chain started, it was just hamburger. Now it's more like "How much bigger, and deadly can we make this 'burger'?" A "Dagwood" sandwich was not as death-defying. The only thing's safe in fast-food restauran't are water. And even that's debateable, especially in New York and New Jersey (ToxicWaste Capital of the world)

Who cares about total calories in this or any other high calorie meal? I mean, come on. Unless you can afford to eat at BK or any other fast food chain every day. One of these meals is not going to hurt you. Unless you have a pre-existing condition that even one of these things would affect. I think even if it were one a week, the other six days would be enough to balance out one of these high calorie fantasies.
