Taco Bell Adds 'Authentic' Street Food Tacos

Photo: Taco Bell

How can we be sure the street food trend is out of control? Let's put it this way: Taco Bell is capitalizing on it.

The fast food taco chain has introduced three new "Cantina Tacos" -- including fire-grilled chicken, beef carne asada, and pork carnitas -- each served on two corn tortillas with onion, cilantro, and a lime wedge.

Sounds good, right? But even better than the new taco line is the spin campaign the company is using to market it ...

Head over to The Stir to read the rest.

They have to be one of the worst fast food chains when it comes to truth in advertising, they run blitz ads about their restaurant specials than qualify them in small print only at participating locations if they can't get cooperation form all their franchisees they should not run the ads.

I would not make such a definite statement, that is unless I was in the food judging line of work. I happen to dislike PBJ and think that it is the worst and also dangerous for the kids to eat. Does that mean that my word is lae?? No way!!!

Larry thanks for agreeing even if they did pull my original comment while leaving ones that included words like maggots and vomit, while all I said was rat and cat...go figure...obviously they have never actually eaten STREET FOOD...I have eaten street food in every Central American Country, Most of the South East Asian Countries, The Far East and India and Pakistan, and I believe I am an EXPERT in "Real Sreet Food" and my comment stands as written. Know about street food before you show your ignorance, moderators and censor someone who HAS been there and done that, and a fresh grilled satay of any of the three isn't half bad...I prefer mine with a peanut sauce.

Now, they are rolling the burrito's like egg rolls. Ever try to re-roll one of those after opening it to apply some hot sauce? Slop at it's very best! I'd rather give my money to a needy cause than waste it at that place. At one time, Taco Bell was tasty and enjoyable. What amazes me is that people still buy this crap.

The meat they use (what they call grilled steak or chicken) could be used by doctors to induce vomiting. It has a nasty flavor and texture of rubber. If I wanted "gummy meat", I would have it made specially. I have never been a fan of Taco Bell, anyway. Their food is all terrible. I have many times in the past, given them the benefit of the doubt and tried their newer items in the hopes that my mind may get changed, but am always left disappointed. The only "fast food" Mexican food in a chain type restaurant that is any good is "The Green Burrito". Many of which are part of Carl’s Jr. That is pretty good Mexican fast food. If in a hurry though, to me nothing beats a taco truck meal. Those roach coaches offer the most authentic Mexican food and it seems that almost all trucks make great food! Forget Taco Bell. Save your palettes...

I should have taken my whole tray back and asked for a refund so I could get something else but my wife gave me her double taco supreme instead. We left the restaurant with a bad taste in our mouth and bad opinions of your new so-called "street food". I wouldn't call those "Cantina Tacos", I would call them "Trashcantina Tacos". I too am a huge blackjack taco fan. Bring back the blackjack, bring back the blackjack........

And Almost every time I see a taco truck, I feel compleed to stop and grab a taco or two. I refuse to eat at taco bell, though. It is just disgusting crap that should not even be served to Al Qaeda Prisoners. I mean, whip them with wires, waterboard them, but never make them eat Taco Bell food...

If they'd buy the tortillas from a tortillaria instead using these pre-fab things it would be an okay product. One block away is a Taco Bell, Del Taco and a real Mexican restaurant ... Del Taco makes these better than Taco Bell, the real Mexican restaurant makes them best.

I literally ran to the phone in hopes of writing a review or something from their survey number on my receipt. I did manage to leave a message for the manager. They should have paid ME to eat these things...they were disgusting for sure....all wadded up in some aluminum foil...different crushed sizes....but the worst was the taste .... Horrible...I thought, "are they kidding to pass these off as edible?" The tacos crumbled and fell apart like they were months old ....and the filling also fell onto my clothes as it was just one big mess. As for the taste.....I couldn't even eat them all even though I was very hungry.....please take these off your menu immediately. I had stopped to get one of the $5.00 boxes which was a pretty good deal....it was off the menu, so I tried these. I actually liked the $5.00 special they'd had. Pitiful.

The beef is reallllly beef the chicken is realllllly chicken! Being that we have so many hispanics - the food is actually getting made properly. Now when I lived in Ohio........barf!
