Debunking Beer Can Chicken: A Waste Of Good Beer, And Dangerous

After reporting yesterday on KFC's Double's Down newest rival, Friendly's Grilled Cheese BurgerMelt, we had to try one for ourselves. This glorified patty melt consists of a Friendly's Big Beef burger with lettuce, tomato, and mayo and, instead of a bun, two grilled cheese sandwiches -- we can't make this stuff up.

Grade: B+
Nutritional Info: 1500 calories, 97 grams fat, 2090 mgs sodium
While completely over the top, this sandwich is also pure genius. Yes, it's higher in calories, fat and sodium than the Double Down, but the ingredients in this sandwich are more harmonious, making it an embarrassingly pleasurable eating experience. (As one of our readers recently commented, "...at its heart, all this is is a cheeseburger on buttered toast.")
The grilled cheese "buns" were buttery, oozing with just the right amount of cheese and just the right amount of greasiness. True, the burger could have been more plump and juicy but it was the right amount of beef to balance out the two grilled cheese sandwiches. The only thing we'd do differently is skip the lettuce. Watery, shredded lettuce did not pair well with the grilled cheese.
The verdict: Considering the nutritional facts, it's going to be hard to eat another one of these without feeling significant guilt and remorse. However, we applaud Friendly's for the invention; they've guaranteed that cardiologists around the world will not be short of business.
We're starting to nervously wonder what crazy concoction will be thought up of next, and kindly ask fast-food establishments from around the country to go easy on us.

They use beef fat to make their chicken taste good(Thats an understatement). The people that work their are brain-dead and dont use proper sanitation while handling food. I would rather eat off of a strolling Taco stand than that Dump!!!

You spellcheckers really get on people's nerves...its like you have no life...I can see you right now sitting there with your magnifying glass and going over each and every word a person puts down on these message boards...oh god how bored your life must be, I have absolutely no time to check others spelling of words,,,i went through that crap in school, you must be a retired teacher that checked all the kids papers to make sure they spelled all words correctley (oops spelling error).. and you at that time had all the right in the world to do that because that was your job and thats what you got paid to do and I applaud our teachers...but this is not a school and you don't get paid to tell someone they misspelled a word, most of the time after you type your comment and hit the done button, thats when you actually see where you've misspelled a few words and you can't go back and correct them, even after proof reading comments we still overlook misspelled words..wow its called "were just human and humans make mistakes"..oh well, just as long as the people who read it know what you've said and the comment is completely understood by all, than let it be...I think its a waste of time to continually try to be the perfect student on these message boards...its not easy, because again, to the spellchecker, most of us are in a hurry and all of us love to comment on articles...So why don't you get a life, and just put your comments down and stop proof reading other peoples comments and then have the nerve to put a silly comment down stating here is no "e" on Tomato except when it is being pluralized" , Your a nut case..who gives a F@ck?? everyone understood exactley what that person was saying..and depending on what part of the country your from most people spell tomatoe with an E..especially southern states...we also use the E. on potatoe...So again don't play god with peoples ways of spelling words....you may spell tomatoe with no E....but I use the e on the end of tomatoe, potatoe...etc.etc...and I'm from Charleston, South Carolina....and the point of this entire comment is not about where your from, its about people like you, having nothing better to do than try to give all us a course in your silly Sh*t comment about how to spell the word tomatoe ...and you actually got upset over someone misspelling tomatoe, You are one special kind of Stupid and all I can say to people like you is Stupid can't be fixed..now that i'm done, Please take your time and proof read everything I've written and let me know Mrs. Spellchecker if I get an A or an F...I'm going for the F....LMAO...

And off Topic : I heard on the radio this morning that people are being less civil to each other especially in schools. Proof is right here in the comment section. Just would like someone to write a article explaining the pleasure one gets out of tearing up another person. I just don't get it myself.
