New Coolatta and Spicy Chipotle Boneless Wings Reviewed

Photo: Elizabeth Hait

It's been a while since Slashfood has updated our fast food reviews, so we figured what better way to get back into it with a hot-cool pairing: spicy chipotle boneless chicken wings from Wendy's, and Dunkin Donut's new Blue Raspberry Coolatta.

Slashfood contributor Erik Trinidad (the creative mind behind FancyFastFood.com) happened to be visiting the office and generously offered help us and as always, the editors of both Slashfood and KitchenDaily dug in.

The complete review after the jump.

Dunkin' Donuts Blue Raspberry Coolatta
Grade: C
Nutritional Info (small): 0 grams fat, 260 calories
Our testers said: "I would like it to be sweeter." "It's more tangy than sweet." "This would be perfect spiked with vodka." "Considering the scary blue syrup, this wasn't as sweet as I thought it was going to be, however, it does smell a little like cough syrup."

Wendy's Chipotle Boneless Wings
Grade: C
Nutritional Info: 20 grams fat, 500 calories
Our testers said: "Too sweet for something that's supposed to be spicy." "Tastes more like the orange chicken you'd get at Panda Express than chipotle peppers." "The breading could be more crisp -- these wings are too soggy." "Not that these aren't fattening enough, but I'd like to dip them into blue cheese."

I don't know why this bothers me, but it does. When I order wings and some one ask me if I want boneless or bone in, I ask them, "Did I say chicken nuggets?"; then, I explain by saying there is no such thing as boneless chicken wings and that I asked for wings(bone in)!!!! I know this is petty, but it is one of my pet peeves!!!!!!!

To get a normal size burger you have to order a double. I bet the burgers don't weigh more than a little over an ounce. I can remember years ago when the burgers were thicker and the best you could buy.

Why doesn't White Castle open a store in Vegas?

How come when you escape from prison they call you and escapee? You are actually the escapER.

But even worse than this was the service. A uniformed manager took my money and handed me my food without so much as a look my way! No thank you, no smile, nothing! I normally do not visit Wendy's for this very reason, lack of customer service, or just plain rude service!!! If i am going to spend over $7, i am going to spend it where it is appreciated! The only reason I went there yesterday was because the drive to Chick Fil A was being resurfaced!

However, at the location near my job the servers for some reason
seem to think it's ok to hold the top of your cup against their sweaty
smelly uniform shirts while they fill your drink from the dispenser.
The other day one girl put it between her upper body and her arm
(almost in her armpit) while she struggled to fill two cups at the
same time.
It's really gross and after the first time (I "accidently" spilled it on
the counter) I now tell them I don't need a top.
I just wonder if they realize how unappetizing this is.
