It's a soup, it's a dessert, it's a fruity, chilled-out refresher to end a meal. June is strawberry season -- time to eat bowls of berries and cream and to bake some biscuits for shortcake. Try something new, with this recipe for strawberry and lavender soup, from blogger twohelmets, who adds the crisp Portuguese wine vinho verde (literally, "green wine") to give it sparkle. Add a pinch of lavender, a bay leaf and then garnish each bowl with a basil leaf, for an undertone of herbs.
Gazpacho also goes berry-licious and minty in this recipe from Kitchen Daily.

For those who do not like strawberries, I am reasonably sure that you could substitute what you do like...I personally love raspberries but blue berries, black berries, raspberries...what difference does it make? Substitute what you like or what you have in the frig...it would probably still be good...just different.

Try it in small doses with roasted chicken, or with sweets that contain lemon. It goes especially well with citrus. Theses cookies are worth a shot. http://www.kitchendaily.com/recipe/lemon-lavender-cookies-147716. Let me know what you think. --Nanette

Like you said...why wold they bother to make the soup if they don't like what is in it. Oh...forgot...in order to promote their advertising!!

I don't even know why I bother to read the comments..... people are either rude..... slyly trying to add some type of advertisement, or just commenting about how bad the writer spells, how dumb the article is, how dumb a poster is, it's like.... WTF? I guess it's the eternal optimist in me thinking if I keep reading I'll find something relevant, or nice... thank you to those of you who have the decency to add something to the post rather than diminishing the experience for the rest of us.....
