Celebrities Who Write Cookbooks ... But Maybe Shouldn't

skinny italianPhoto: Amazon.com

Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice is coming out with a cookbook called Skinny Italian on May 4 -- which just goes to show that all you need to be considered an authority on cooking these days is apparently to flip over tables when angry and talk about "bubbies."

But Giudice isn't the only celebrity who has authored a cookbook. Check out these odd celebrity cookbooks and cook from them -- if you dare!

1. Dolly Parton

Love, love Dolly. But would I ever buy Dolly's Dixie Fixin's: Love, Laughter and Lots of Good Food from My Tennesse Kitchen? Not a chance. Dolly should be singing country -- not telling us how to eat country.

Continuing reading after the jump.

2. Ted Nugent

Your cookbook collection will not be complete until you own Nugent's Kill It and Grill It: A Guide to Preparing and Cooking Wild Game and Fish -- the cover of which features him in a sleeveless denim shirt cradling a rifle.

3. Robin Leach

If you've ever wondered what Wheel of Fortune co-host Vanna White cooks for dinner, then Robin Leach's Healthy Lifestyles Cookbook: Menus and Recipes from the Rich, Famous, and Fascinating is for you. And if you haven't, consider yourself normal.

4. Miss Piggy

If I dwell on the fact that a muppet has a cookbook out -- In the Kitchen With Miss Piggy -- and I don't, I get depressed. Moving along ...

5. Tony Danza

Of all the celeb cookbooks, Don't Fill Up On the Antipasto: Tony Danza's Father-Son Cookbook is the one I'd be most likely to buy. After all, wasn't he always cooking on Who's the Boss?

Do you have any notable celebrity cookbooks?

Who gives a crap about a self proclaimed celebrity like a Bravo housewife least of all a Jersey one.

If you ever work on one of her albums, she might surprise you with homemade chicken and dumplins.......and not those instant kind that use Bisquick or tortilla's as the dumplins.....Real, and from scratch, just like her mama taught her!
Her book is not only some of her favorites, but dishes from friends and favorite places she has been on her travels....It is worth checkin out.

Several different ways to make Klingon Bolld Pie or Vulcan Plomeek soup. I am almost suprised they haven't put out an update with Star Trek: Enterprise.

Second, I actually own the cookbook (being the Muppet fan that I am....lol) and she may have WRITTEN the cookbook, but the recipes were all from "her famous friends". I seem to recall a recipe from Candace Bergin at one point in there, can't remember the others. Don't *EVER* compare anyone else to Miss Piggy, or use her name to insult someone else! She's the one and only! HMPH!!

#1, DON'T EVER knock Dolly Parton OR Miss Piggy..

#2, Get a real job in journalism, and perhaps a life, instead of being a blogger for a site called 'the Stir' and then maybe you won't be so jealous when people more famous than you publish something.
