The one name that is not on this list is Julia Child's, that peerless pioneer of television cooking who inspired entire generations of Americans to become homegrown gourmets. Her joyful sensuality was part of her allure: she set the mold for every woman on this list. We chose not to include her because sometimes genius stands apart. Julia Child's is sexy, just re-watch the way the woman eats a pastry, breaks down a chicken, or kneads a mound of dough.
And now, the heiresses to her throne ... these goddesses are so hot, they practically sizzle.

2-02-2010 @2:45PM Kay said... Giada should be #1. She's lovely in looks and her cooking show is fabulous. Padma is pretty but I've never seen her cook......Paula I love though I would NOT eat a lot of what she cooks as I'm a diabetic and some of her food would probably kill me. But she has a heck of a personality and the fact that this single mom became a success is a true American Dream.

Paula is a silver Fox !!

2-02-2010 @8:33PM Lizzy said... Paula Dean is a very sexy lady for her stature. Not only that but she has such a warm and inviting demeanor that a majority of the southern ladies have, how could you resist her, ya’ll? Way To Go Paula!

Paula is fun and a great cook also.
How can some of those cooks stay so thin? :-)
Maybe they don't taste their food.
2-03-2010 @9:03PM Shirley Pike said... I love Sandra Lee's cooking. She is so helpful for anyone that doesn't want to spend the whole day in the kitchen - and who has time?
Also, Robin Miller is great. They are about every day food and with two people working in the family maybe a man could follow a recipe from Sandra and Robin.
2-02-2010 @6:43PM viva said... I agree. Rachael Ray is glaringly absent from this list. Why, Editors ?!?!?!????!!
2-02-2010 @4:31PM Lou said... Paula Dean is a fabulous entertainer as well as a cook. Her recipe magazines are flying off the shelves.Too bad uninformed people equate all southern humor with rednecks. I seriously doubt
many who post here have ever spent any time south of the Mason-Dixon line. You will find warmth and hospitality there. Having lived in the North, the South, as well as abroad, I'll take Savannah,
Paula, and her cooking any day.

2-02-2010 @6:14PM Al Schrader said... My sister went on the Paula Dean reality bus tour. I'm so envious. They take you to her church, where she was born, everywhere she's ever been. And then, they take you to her Butter Lady & Sons restaurant for black eyed peas. I want a piece of that Red Velvet cake made from a jeriboam of butter & whip cream. My doctor says my triglycerides are way over the top, but not quite in the 2,000 point range so I guess I could eat one big piece of it. Too bad you can't get the Paula Dean cookware anymore. I heard that it shatters when you apply heat. It's a real shame. And I'm sure that guy who threw that ham at her wasn't mad over his wife's shattering cookware...Al-

2-02-2010 @3:50PM Marilyn DeBrase said... Yes, Ina -- Giada No. Why? Because I don't watch her anymore -- first of all, I am so tired of seeing her low cut tops and her boobs hanging out -- I read an interview once where she said she had big ones -- so, she needs to put them on display? Next, she's the ONLY one who, when she has people over to eat, she has to tell them exactly what she made and how she made it "I did this and then I did that." Sounds like someone has attention issues! And where was Gina Neely in this line-up?

5 Nigella Lawson
4 Katie Lee Joel
3 Padma Lakshmi
2 Gail Simmons
1 Casey Thompson (Top Chef, Miami season)
