It begs the question: is it a diet drink or isn't it? It seems a wee bit contradictory to trumpet both claims on the same can but Dr. Pepper's peeps don't see it that way.
Leslie Vesper, brand manager for Diet Dr Pepper, sent Slashfood the following perky statement.
"Our loyal consumers tell us all the time that Diet Dr Pepper doesn't taste like a diet soft drink. This is where the "There's Nothing Diet About It" tagline comes from. We'd encourage anyone who is confused to give Diet Dr Pepper a try -- it's unbelievably satisfying!"
So hopefully that clears up the case of the puzzling and perplexing Dr. Pepper diet declarations.

Of course, I have test it from time to time ! Have to wait to drink the beer until after hours, but soft drinks are ok anytime. I got tired of Coke, etc. So I began to experiment by mixing different flavors. And ? Yum. My latest fav is 30% Coke, 30% Diet Coke, and 40% Sprite. Result is a reduced cal kinda lemony Coke blaster....Chef Alfred Schrader.

Good lord, some of you are dumber than advertised.

I can't figure out if these people who are confused are just lain clueless or if they have way too much time on their hands and fill it by finding things to complain about.

1-11-2010 @4:56PM John said... I agree. Besides, all they need to do to be sure is read the calorie count on the back of the can. Zero calories on the label will confirm their stupidity.
1-11-2010 @6:28PM scott said... I totally agree with all of you guys too. Also, HELLO? It clearly says on the can that it's a Doctor, not a can of Diet Soda? So why does everyone thinks it's diet soda? It's clearly a medical professional! I wish Jenny the Bloggess would have more respect for people who went to school to learn medicine.
Not getting sarcasm is a symptom of Aspergers Syndrome. Several authors/commenters on this site might want to be tested.

Jenny the Bloggess is a SATIRIST. It was satire. Satire. SATIRE. As in, not serious. Humorous. Just for laughs. It was a sarcastic way to point out "Diet - nothing diet about it" is a ridiculous slogan.
Did anyone bother to read her post before slamming her?
1-11-2010 @4:53PM Val said... Jenny isn't actually stupid at all. The stupid ones are the people who read her SATIRE POST and took it seriously. She was making fun of people who might actually be dumb enough to get confused by these cans.

Honestly, think, people.
1-11-2010 @2:57PM Betsaida said... This is ridiculous, if people are confused they can just turn the can and read the nutrition facts. But then again if they're confused by this they might not even be able to read them.
