Police think Charles Pierce hit the gas instead of the brake when parking at the restaurant, WESH reported. Instead of panicking, Pierce got out of his car and placed his order.
Biscuits 'N' Gravy and More employee Ann Jewers said Pierce "sat down and he wanted breakfast" after crashing into the restaurant's front window.
A cook at the restaurant told WESH that a customer had been sitting in the spot hit by Pierce's car, "but he paid his bill just five seconds or ten seconds before it happened. Thank god."
Pierce asked if anyone was injured. One person had a "very minor injury," WESH reported.
"He come out of his car, no problem. He sat down at the table, has his breakfast, and God bless America, beautiful," the owner, Marino Segalas, told WESH.
Building officials said the crash caused no structural damage and the restaurant continues to operate. The damage is estimated at $25,000.

If you are capable of driving like the poster above, then great! You get to keep your license. If not, too bad. This might also spark some cities to implement public transportation systems. My town for instance refuses to have a public transportation system because someone who owns multiple car dealerships is on the council! Talk about corrupt politicians.

And even more strict for driving motorhomes!!

There should be a law that says people over 65 need to prove that they are able to drive and control a car at least every 6 months. This will cut down crashes and the deaths of people due to older people who can't drive anymore.

Perhaps you can drive as well as Muffin, but if that is so, then Muffin is either old or not a great driver. Facts are that at age 72 your eyesight, hearing, reflexes, and flexibility are greatly diminished. I feel sure that 92 year old who planted the car in the Biscuit Emporium thinks he can drive just fine; as well as he ever could. You may not be dull, and might not be slow; but I'll not cover any bets on it. That you describe yourself as a "careful driver" says to me that you probably drive slower than the flow of traffic and take an inordinate amount to time before pulling into traffic. While older drivers may not have as many accidents as teenagers, the reasons may lie in the fact they are too busy impeding the flow of traffic and causing others to have accidents trying to get around them to actually be in an accident. We have a minimum age to drive: why don't we have a MAXIMUM age to drive as well ? Mandatory yearly testing starting at age 65 with a cutoff at 80.
