While researchers have tried to create foods that could make you feel fuller faster, in the past efforts focused on what happened to food after it was chewed and swallowed, the scientists said in a press release.
But now, some are trying to change the way food affects you while you're chewing it.
In the study in the current issue of the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, the Dutch scientists found that smells released during chewing can affect how full you feel while eating and possibly help you stop eating sooner.
"This suggests a number of applications, including developing foods that release more aroma during chewing, or developing aromas that are more powerful in triggering feelings of fullness," Business Week reports.

Not any more! Mama's kitchen is overrun with the smells of fried chicken and mashed taters? Pfft. Pffft. Not any more! I mean, who wants to eat the food when it smells like the cook sh*t her pants? I just don't see how squirting a bit of lemon scented spray could possible work as cheaply and effectively. It would make Mama's kitchen smell like lemon chicken....
