Use Up Leftover Cookie Dough - Tip of the Day

Holiday baking season leaving you with an abundance of cookie dough? Discover creative uses for leftover dough in today's tip.

The halls have been decked and all the gifts have been unwrapped. The holiday baking season is over, but Christmas cookie dough still lingers. So now what?

Cookie dough can be frozen for up to three months, so long as it's placed in a freezer bag or plastic container with tight-fitting lid.

Make a dessert pizza -- leftover dough is rolled out to form the crust. One popular variation, fruit pizza, has a sugar cookie crust topped with a sweetened cream cheese spread and assorted fruits. For a more decadent version, try this Rocky Road Cookie Pizza.

Delight cupcake eaters with a cookie dough surprise inside. The Cupcake Project even tops their cookie dough cupcakes with cookie dough frosting -- double the cookie dough, double the fun.

Or use dough to spruce up simple vanilla ice cream -- add bite-sized pieces of cookie dough into the vanilla base when it has about 2 minutes left to churn in order to evenly distribute the dough throughout.
