Turn That Cake Right Side 'Round - Tip of the Day

Worried you'll never turn that upside-down-cake right side 'round? With this easy method, the fruit bottom will always end up flawlessly on top.

Upside-down cake is just that -- it starts with the fruit on the bottom and batter, or cake, on top. It ends with the batter on the bottom and the fruit on top by craftily flipping it out of the pan.

In order to do achieve a flawless flip, run a knife around the cake to loosen the edges of the cake from the pan. Then, set a plate that's larger than the cake on the top of the pan -- making sure the bottom of the plate is facing toward the ceiling.

Gripping the pan and plate at both sides, quickly flip over the pan and plate in one swift motion so that the plate is now on the bottom.

Wait a few minutes before gently pulling the pan off the cake. Worst case scenario: Remove any remnants stuck to the top of the pan and sneakily put them back on top of the cake -- nothing a decorative garnish can't hide.
