12-13-2009 @12:02AM Katie said... Shame on you for your reporting on the impact of greenhouse gases on shellfish. You neglected to mention "other species—including oysters, scallops, and clams—suffered in more acidic waters because they had more trouble building their shells."
That type of headline contributes to global warming denial. Focusing on the "positive" change totally neglects that those small changes take place in a larger system, which is falling apart. Shame.

I would suggest that you ask a marine biologist (my training) or someone who keeps a large salt-water aquarium about this.
These are the people that actually have the boots on the ground on this subject and I think that you will get quite a different answer than the one you are getting from the warmist camp.
As for CO2, there are two facts to keep in mind:
#1) - The North American continent (USA and Canada) is a net CO2 sink. Because of the vast forests and arctic tundra, the North American continent absorbs more CO2 than we emit.
#2) - The sum total of manmade CO2 emissions is about 3% of the total. Volcanoes, decay, fermentation of biomass, oceanic sources account for the other 97% -- the percent of CO2 in the atmosphere __is__ rising because we are coming out of the little ice age.
Sorry for the off-topic drift but I needed to correct a few mis-interpretations.
