That's the question many lovers of frozen Eggo waffles are wondering following nationwide shortages of the popular breakfast food.
Kellogg's, which manufactures Eggo, blames the short supply on flooding that hit an Atlanta processing facility in September, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
The shortage will most likely be in effect through the middle of next year, the company says.
"The Eggo team is working around the clock to bring everyone's favorite waffles back to store shelves as quickly as possible. We hope to regain full distribution of Eggo products by the middle of 2010," the company says on the Eggo Web site. "This is a top priority for Kellogg Company."
In addition to the Georgia flooding, Kellogg's says "equipment enhancements and repairs in our largest waffle bakery" contributed to the shortage. That facility is in Rossville, Tenn., the Journal-Constitution reports.

I've had no trouble finding them at Ralph's & Von's in Calabasas, CA. I've tried other brands of frozen waffles and none of them are as good as EGGO. I certainly hope the shortage doesn't reach the markets here in Southern California!

(This is especially bad for my grandson. He's 8 yrs and autixtic. His night time routine, is to get ready for bed, pick up his stuff,,,THEN he gets a Eggo WAffle with a little butter, THEN he brushes his teeth and goes to bed.
He is VERY picky about this waffle. It has to be Round, (NEVER Square) and he knows the difference in taste.
IT HAS TO BE EGGOs.
Autistic kids are real quirky and routines are horrible for the parent if they get broken..)
I have a friend with a son who is autistic. I understand what you are saying about the routine that develops with the children. What i suggest is keeping your eggo box, buy the generic ones like they have at wal-mart or other stores, and take them out of their box and put them in the eggo box.
Also, you should suggest that parent look up information on food allergies associated with autism. Could be that gluten filled eggo is part of what is feeding his autism. My friend changed her son's diet to a casein/gluten free diet and he has improved dramatically. Hope that helps. :)
