in happier times.

A Costco executive told the Associated Press that it is no longer carrying Coca-Cola products in its stores after a dispute over pricing with the Atlanta-based company.
Neither Costco nor Coca-Cola officials returned calls from Slashfood, but a Coca-Cola Co. executive told the AP the company wouldn't comment on the ongoing negotiations. The official said the company wanted to work out its differences with Costco "in a spirit of fairness." In addition to Coca-Cola soft drinks the company makes Sprite, Squirt, Dasani water, Full Throttle energy drinks.

The big box chains have pushed so many jobs to the pacific rim and have made imported products a necessity because of their NAZI type demands for the lowest price, crazy payment terms like 12 months no pay, slotting allowances, advertising allowances, etc. that a domestic manufacturer either move his manufacturing capabilities to the pacific rim to build in these additional cost or go out of business.
Boycott Costco, Sams, Walmart, Lowes, Home Depot and others and see how many jobs move back to this country. We will also see one more important lost value reappear. "Customr Service" instead of the cattle chute approach.
F""k Em Coca Cola you are one of the last remaining US Companies that still manufacturer products in our country.

I just bought 5 12-packs at Wegman's for $10 (17 cents/ can) so yeah, when the stores do their "loss leader" (historical marketing tool) I run in and buy enough to hold over to the next "sale". Essentially you have two companies with the attitude of "my way or the highway" - ask Panasonic and Rubbermaid. Isn't competition great!!!

Often Costco's demands on it's vendors (product companies) is outrageous. I am pleased that Coke is big enough to stand up to them. I used to do all my shopping at Costco but not anymore. I can get better bargains at the regular chain grocery stores if I watch the ads. I am also tired of being overloaded with bulk items which may sit in a cupboard or months at a time just taking up space. Their policy of now taking food stamps makes them just like any 'ol cheap store but one that charges an admission (yearly dues). The exclusivity is gone.

HOWEVER - if they combine poor product selection with their already too long checkout lines and the aggravation of re-organizing their @#$@ store every month or so, making almost everything incapable of being found from one visit to the next, it isn't hard to see why they are losing customers and WalMart is gaining them.

I think it is disgusting that Costco, Wal-Mart, SAM's etc can dictate to companies the pricing and discounts to their stores...This type of bullying is exactly what Wal-mart is famous for...and despite the low prices, in the end, they are killing our economy. It is sad to see Costco go down that same path. Shame on you Costco.

WHY is That?
Greed!! That is why our country is in a recession now. So I ask the Coke company to consider the comman hard working people that love your product will have a bad taste on your PRICE BATTLE with Costco or any other company. We all need to stay real to our time of hardships and work it out to benefit us all not just the select few. That goes for all food and beverage companies in our great USA raising prices 30 to 40 percent since January.
The more the prices go up the less qauntity of product purchased. I Rather sell more than less for a better gain. Products are thrown away everyday that shouldn't happen. We all need to realize what we waste everyday someone could gain a better life.
Once it's wasted it's gone
