A Costco executive told the Associated Press that it is no longer carrying Coca-Cola products in its stores after a dispute over pricing with the Atlanta-based company.
Neither Costco nor Coca-Cola officials returned calls from Slashfood, but a Coca-Cola Co. executive told the AP the company wouldn't comment on the ongoing negotiations. The official said the company wanted to work out its differences with Costco "in a spirit of fairness." In addition to Coca-Cola soft drinks the company makes Sprite, Squirt, Dasani water, Full Throttle energy drinks.

Its over indulging, bad diet, and lack of excersise that does that. No one holds a gun to your head and says "drink this sugar"...people choose to give it to their families and drink too much of it. I just don't see the importance of this as a "news" story. Coke is still out there...and Cosco never sold it cheap to begin with.

You basically pay around 27 cents a can at Costco. If you find it at $3.25 (12) or $6.50 (24) elsewhere you are equal to what you would pay at Costco. Find it cheaper than that? Stock up.

I've always favored Pepsi, but that's not really the question, nor the answer. The truth is, it's now proven that kidney damage, especially in women over a 20 plus year study span, shows kidney functions off 30 percent by drinking any diet beverage. That's in women, and they didn't mention what the result would be in men. I weigh in at 170 and I'm 5'9", male and 59 years old. I'm not obese and really don't care about the calories. I choose to drink the sugar variety and save my kidney functions. You, can choose for yourself. Somehow, were I ever to become obese, I would still stick with full strength soda, as I'd rather have something I could control, rather than loss of kidney function.
