The customers and employees were injured Sunday morning at an eatery in Knightdale, N.C. Fire Marshal Rusty Styons told the News & Observer that pepper spray or ammonia was likely to blame. The injured complained about burning eyes and noses.
"It appeared to be airborne," Eddie Ross, an official with Eastern Wake Emergency Medical Services, told the paper. "I don't think it was anything in the food."
An unnamed employee said someone left pepper spray on the hand dryer in the men's restroom and it spread after the dryer was turned on, the Associated Press reports.

Outside, we were sprayed with chemicals that made us vomit on the spot. I assume this still goes on. Yet, we were never offered medical attention, hell, there wasn't even a doctor in attendance. This was done every six months, so we were "qualified." Not sure exactly what it was we qualified for. Yet, in the public sector, if someone doesn't flush the toilet in the men's room, everyone is hospitalized immediately. One of two things is happening here... either our soldiers are being totally ignored in their medical needs, or the private sector is being led by the nose in an attempt to make them think they've been exposed to something much more dangerous than it actually is.

That's why they don't need to build up a tolerence for such things and that's why the medical attention comes so quickly. If the military started going soft on their soldiers, and the unthinkable happens, then they might not be able to hold out as strongly.

They probably were hanging around watching to see what happened. There is no thought for anyone else's pain or suffering anymore if it's fun. If the public knew half of what kind of 'pranks' were going on in our schools they'd be alarmed.
We're becoming so paranoid looking outward to our enemies that we're missing the truth that that we have degraded so much as compassionate, unselfish human beings that we don't see we are our own enemies. Our kids are rude, entitled, spoiled, bored brats that they could care less who or what they harm if it means a good laugh.

Well, I guess we shouldn't assume the folks that were gassed weren't all hardenned Marines- have you been inside a McDs lately? half are retired folks and the half...well, other. Ammonia or Pepper Spray can kill someone with OCD, Asthma or other breathing problems- Not everyone is a Marine- you made the choice to go through bootcamp. This isn't Korea where all males over a certain age HAVE to go into the military. This not-tough-enough mentality is great if your not an 80 year-old Asthmatic with heart problems...

I really feel if children were allowed to be children and not rushed into adulthood these days, and were taught to play safely by parents, some of these things wouldn't be happening ! It is just a shame that teens and children even have to have pepper spray to do something like this ! When are the American People going to wake up ? Prosecute adults for crimes against children enough to be a deterrant and the need for young ones to have pepper spray won't be there !

Second, I find it very offensive when people blame 'teenagers these days' for everything, because the worst prank I've heard of in my 15 years actually happening, was super-gluing the schools locks, causing no harm to anyone... just annoyance. And beyond that, I heard that someone TP'd their friends house. That's all. What was the most recent thing an adult did...? Shot and killed 12 people! Hmm... who's the real threat to society?
And as a side note, why do you think teens are bored? Because every adult automatically thinks that they are reckless and rude. Adults automatically ignore teenagers because they think they will do something bad. Then, teenagers get bored, and will do something to entertain themselves, because no one else will.

And if I got there late then I can get money for what thoses "saps" got and I didn't have to suffer any. Nobody cares if any one actually suffered any real effects or not. I can convince a kid who fell and skinned his knee on a side walk that he is going to be permanantely scarred physically and emotionallly if I talk to him right. If you left him alone he would shrug it off and go on. But there is no money iy that.

I always carry at least one handkerchief/neckerchief with me. If there's no paper I use it. I'd rather dry my hands on a dirty snot rag than catch who knows what from some machine. Those blow driers ought to be tossed in the scrap heap of bad ideas.
