Gordon Ramsay Done With 'Kitchen Nightmares'

Hot-headed celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay is finally waking up from his kitchen nightmare.

The reality show "Kitchen Nightmares" put Ramsay in failing restaurants across America for one week so the tell-it-like-it-is chef can try to turn the struggling businesses around. But the show proved too troublesome for the salty U.K. chef, who says he's through with it.

The foul-mouthed Brit admits the show's title is a little too fitting: "If the restaurants succeed, there's no praise," Ramsay told The Sun. "If they're screwed, we're blamed and get lawyers' letters."

More than two-thirds of the restaurants Ramsay "helped" ending up being sold or shut down, the paper said.

Slashfood attempted to contact the production company, Granada Entertainment, to clarify if both the American and British versions of the "Kitchen Nightmares" are canceled -- our calls were not returned.

I have a REAL format that people would enjoy. We've been a success since 1987. Our success is one owner and now passing to my son(Cordon Bleu Paris and London grad) wowing patrons beyond belief!!!

That just amazes me beyond belief! The crap that was in these peoples refrigerators is enough to make me want to sue them for being in business!!! I hope Chef Ramsey all my best!

Having watched both the British and American versions of Kitchen Nightmares, I have to admit that most of the people whom Gordon Ramsey has helped have been extremely stubborn and amazingly (especiallly in America) filthy when it comes to their kitchens and restaurants. How it is that they haven't given someone food poisoning or worse before he got there, I don't know! Suing him because their places of business failed after he left and gave them new equipment, instructions on how to run things, helped the kitchen and waitstaff with new ideas and receipes and such and they still run the place into the ground just means that they shouldn't have been in the business in the first place; their hearts and minds weren't really into the soul of being a restaurantuer. I'd like to see him help someone like my friend, who has a clean restuarant, but could use some help with better receipes, new equipment, a makeover for the place and some good helpstaff (she uses family most of the time). While she's been successful in keeping her place open for more than 17 years now, it would be so nice for her to be SUCCESSFUL and have the nice things she really deserves for her restaurant. Mr. Ramsey, if you ever get to North Dakota, look up the Paragon Cafe in Mohall. You'll be treated fine (like one of the townspeople), you'll get a decent meal, but don't look for anything fancy there. Just solid, home-cooked food. Any help you can give after that would be icing on the cake!

You're a hypocrite and a liar. You just want attention, well, you are a barely noticeable little turd that was dropped out of society's ass. I am only responding and giving you a little bit of attention out of pity for your worthless self. Have a nice day.

When trying to help anyone else out of a bad situation it is only right to expect a little respect and appreciation, even just for the effort. I'm sure the high temper and choice words are just for ratings and that Gordon is a very likeable chap in person, without the cameras around! :-)

website. As most of you know, I have my own soapmaking and bath
products company (edelweiss-soap-company.com) I make all the
products by hand, by myself. They are all natural, paraben-free,
dye-free. Only animal product used is goat milk. I've been doing it
for 10 years, and they are great. They don't dry your skin and they
smell great. I have put together gift boxes and have them listed
here. Any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

He has an ability to cut through the b.s. and show people where they are simply lying to themselves, to their own detriment. This show, like "Hell's Kitchen," is an amazing study of the human condition. People can be so cowardly and weak in the face of a man who demands excellence from them. You can tell he is a former professional soccer player. The women he comes into contact with -- nearly to a person -- simply adore him, and the men -- once they get past their own false pride -- respect him. It is this blind ego and false sense of pride, most times coupled with just plain laziness, that leads these aspiring restauranteurs down a path to financial ruin. "Sad, really."

I'm sure a lot of restaurant owners are breathing a sigh of relief because Ramsey will no longer be putting a spotlight on all of the bad habits involving poor sanitation and improper food care found in many restaurants. I have become completely disillusioned with restaurants for years. Nobody knows how to cook anymore! I cannot remember the last time a restaurant served an entire meal worth eating. There is ALWAYS at least one item that is crap and not worth eating. Remember when everything on the plate was edible in the past? It's just hopeless these days. Lazy cooks, uneducated morons, indifferent staff personnel. The only good restaurants these days are the really high-end restaurants and that's it! But, I'm a good cook myself, so I save the cash and do it myself at home. Why not?

You do swear alot but then again so do i and others out there. But i know the reason you are so tough with these people is you want them to succeed and have a passion for cooking instead of pretending they know how to do things. I and others know you'll be back on another show when your ready. Don't let these ungratefull store owners put you down in the dumps. You always do your best in helping these people but unfortunately the owners of the restraunts blame you for their stupid demise. It's their stupidity that does them in not yours ! Keep flying high with everything you do. Things will get better i'm sure. :)

When someone has done as well as he has you think a person or persons would like to learn from him. I have found that people that fail like the ones that have failed in his show are usaully just to lazy to continue the hard work that it takes to make something work

That's the way it is and that's the way it will always be. Cooking is an underpaid, under appreciated profession that EVERYONE thinks they know how to do. I've worked in the B&I sector for the past 15 years and aside from the better hours, dealing with CEO's that think everyone in the cafeteria is a slave for their personal abuse and the secretaries that have absolutely no respect for the staff is also a nightmare. I'm in semi retirement and just take it easy where I work, but back in the day I was almost as tough as this chef. You have to be in an industry where most people are only there for a paycheck and take little to no pride in their efforts. I could never understand that. For what they are paid the might just have easily gotten a job anywhere else where their laziness and stupidity would be tolerated.
