The reality show "Kitchen Nightmares" put Ramsay in failing restaurants across America for one week so the tell-it-like-it-is chef can try to turn the struggling businesses around. But the show proved too troublesome for the salty U.K. chef, who says he's through with it.
The foul-mouthed Brit admits the show's title is a little too fitting: "If the restaurants succeed, there's no praise," Ramsay told The Sun. "If they're screwed, we're blamed and get lawyers' letters."
More than two-thirds of the restaurants Ramsay "helped" ending up being sold or shut down, the paper said.
Slashfood attempted to contact the production company, Granada Entertainment, to clarify if both the American and British versions of the "Kitchen Nightmares" are canceled -- our calls were not returned.

11-01-2009 @8:20PM my name is said... I'm sorry that Ramsay is stopping productions. I can see what he is saying, no thanks when there is a success, and lawyers involved when the restaurant still stinks. Most of the time the restaurant was already too far in the red, or the owner was too stuburn to change. I use to get so grossed out when Ramsay would go through a freezer, and find all the filth!! Makes you wonder how many places are like that. Anyway, i hope he keeps doing Hell's Kitchen. I like Ramsay, even tho i would never put up with a boss like him. Lol.

The place looked better and the menu was definitely improved; the food was actually quite good. Unfortunately, day after day, week after week, the menu remained unchanged and it was just, frankly, boring to go there. And then there was the attitude problem of the staff which, regardless of his intervention, failed to change. They had some "manager" with a big dirty mouth behind the bar in this little spot, and during one lunch hour he proceeded to talk about his colonoscopy (I kid you not). He definitely resurrected this place and it had potential but, alas, if you just don't have the moxie and smarts, you just don't. I suppose they thought they would skid by on his reputation, and they did for a while. Don't blame Ramsey for this nightmare.

It is amazing how many people out there have no idea about running a restaurant. Ramsey finds them and in reality, is unable to help them, because they are incapable of helping themselves. Too bad.

I can understand why Ramsey is stopping production because most of the buisnesses end up failing & he gets blamed for it when he gave his time & effort to try & help these people out. I like the F Word & I hope he keeps it on the air along with Hell's Kitchen. He's an a**hole but he's entertaining to watch.

I am sure the ignorance aound him really burned his as*. It was a do it this way or die situation. I will continue to watch him. He has got it goin on! You go Gordon!

BUT that is what people want to see. I have many successful restaurants and would watch his shows.
Chef Ramsey's shows first would exhibit situations on how not to do things in the restaurant business. Then his shows would "miraculously" fix the situation. That was the fiction because there is never an easy fix to restaurants. Believe me, "If it was easy everybody would be doing it." There is no show that can fix a restaurant. Chef Gordon would be the first to agree unofficially.

Gordon, instead of stopping production, have the restaurant's sign a release before shooting ( The statement should state that THEY know that they are in trouble, they know w/o help that they will be out of businness VERY soon and that this IS their last chance of reviving their business.. I enjoy the show. However, IF they were idiot's and running their business in the ground before hand, then it would have failed anyway. However, YOU are educating them. IF they can NOT accept the education, that is their problem.

In ramsay's case it's about knowing and passion. He hollers about the subject and not at people personally. There's a different between arrogant and Jack*** I hope he continue's to find satisfactory endevors for many years.

He offers "tough love," and these people call his show BEGGING for help, so when he shows up and they get all pissy cause they can't handle the truth, tough sh#t. If you don't wanna know what you're screwing up, don't ask for help. Asking Ramsey for help, when you know how passionate he is, and then being stubborn or resistant to change and calling him an a$$hole is like being invited or Jerry Springer and being shocked when somebody gives you embarassing news. You know what to expect before the show begins, so if you want special treatment, go somewhere else.
