It's a soup! It's a cheeseburger! It's cheeseburger soup?

Kalie's Family Restaurant in Cleveland serves up cheeseburger soup, but the restaurant is not alone.

Food Network's Guy Fieri hunts down the meaty concoction at Grover's Bar and Grill in East Amherst, N.Y. on "Diners, Drive-ins and Dives." The episode, called "Dives Worth a Drive," is airing Nov. 6, 7 and 8 on the Food Network.

The only problem is that I cannot find a recipe online that looks like what I saw on TV. All of the recipes that I found call for adding potatoes and carrots, and nothing about using tomatoes and lettuce!
BTY. My wife and I love watching that show!!!

to a recipe that sounds very similar to the recipe on the show. No potatoes, carrots, or corn and it has the tomatoes and lettuce. I haven't tried it yet, but I will. It calls to Velveeta cheese and 1/2 & 1/2 instead of a cheese sauce, but I think that would work.

* 1 pound super lean ground beef
* 16 oz chicken stock
* 1 pints half and half
* ½ block of Velveeta, cubed
* 1 large onion, diced
* 3 T. butter
* 2 med tomatoes, chopped
* 2 cups Iceberg lettuce, chopped
* Salt & Pepper to taste
* 1/4 cup flour mixed with 3/4 cup water (for thickener)

In a Dutch oven, melt butter and sweat onion until translucent, remove. Add ground beef, season with salt & pepper and cook until browned and a bit crispy, drain. (Next time I will make actual patties and grill them to get more of a burger taste) remove from pan.

Add your chicken stock, & flour slurry, bring to boil scrapping bits off the bottom. Add half & half and Velveeta. Cook until all the cheese is melted, not boiling. Add in onion & hamburger.

Season to taste and lower heat. Cover and cook for about an 1 hour. Add the tomatoes and lettuce, stir and serve.

KURMIE'S AWESOME CHEESEBURGER SOUP
(I don't know if it tastes anything like the original, but it didn't make me puke.)

1 can Campbells Chedar Cheese soup
6 oz milk or 1/2 & 1/2 (a whole can will dilute the cheese flavor too much)
4 oz hamburger (cooked & drained)
4 oz diced tomatoes (about 1/2 can), drained
2 large bib lettuce leaves cut up coarsely
pepper to taste

Heat cheese soup and milk
stir in hamburger
add tomatoes & lettuce, pepper to taste and serve.

Add the lettuce just before serving, or serve it on the side. You don't want it mushy,
