Jones Soda Halloween Flavor Taste Test

When Slashfood saw these cute 8-ounce cans of limited-edition Halloween flavors, we had to try them. Every year Seattle's Jones Soda puts out four flavors suitable for trick-or-treaters -- and this year, they're tempting us with Buried Pomegranate, Spooookiwi, Candy Corn and Lemon Drop Dead.

We cracked open each so you don't have to. See how they stack up after the jump.

Jones Soda Halloween Flavor Taste Test

Every year Jones Soda Co. releases limited edition Halloween flavors. This year's crop of spooky sodas are Buried Pomegranate, Spooookiwi, Candy Corn and Lemon Drop Dead. Slashfood tried them all, so you don't have to.

    Buried Pomegranate
A devilish vampire smirks on this can of Buried Pomegranate. But how does his soda bite?

    Rachel Been, AOL

    Buried Pomegranate
    Grade: C
Our tasters found this "really sweet" soda to be "creamy with a cotton candy bouquet" and wondered if "buried" actually meant "berried -- because I got berry notes along with pomegranate. I need a trip to the dentist right after drinking this."

    Spooookiwi
Frankenstein looks happy on this can of Spooookiwi, but will you be after drinking the soda pop?

    Rachel Been, AOL

    Spooookiwi
    Grade: B
This pale green soda had a taste and smell our tasters found reminiscent of apples. It was "pleasant albeit sweet" and "the bright green color is fun for kids."

    Rachel Been, AOL

    Lemon Drop Dead
What evil lurks beneath those bandages? And is the soda pop in the can made of darkness or light?

    Rachel Been, AOL

    Lemon Drop Dead
    Grade: A
Our tasters found this to be a "refreshing" "tart, fizzy lemonade" that we'd drink any day of the year. "Would be great for a Halloween punch (all you need is one of those ice hands)."

    Rachel Been, AOL

    Candy Corn
Let this werewolf entertain you on the can of Candy Corn Soda. But should you stay to try the drink?

    Rachel Been, AOL

    Candy Corn
    Grade: F
Our tasters thought this soda looked "like pee," which might be great if you're 8, but is really disgusting for your adult Halloween guests. It tastes like "must" or "fizzy marshmallows. Anything that neon shouldn't be consumed."
