Burger King to Sell Quarter-Pound Double Cheeseburger for $1

The King has had a change of heart. Starting Oct. 19, Burger King will offer its quarter-pound double cheeseburger for $1 nationwide. This comes after we reported back in July that franchisees turned down a plan to instead sell the double cheeseburger for a buck, forcing the chain to plan a coupon campaign targeting nearly 80 million households nationwide.

But Nation's Restaurant News reports that the $1 promotion is just the fast-food giant's latest attempt to boost sales following a 4.5-percent drop in the last quarter.

According to Burger King's senior vice president of global business intelligence and strategy, Mike Kappitt, recent testing deemed the promotion successful.

"Positive sales results and strong consumer demand for our $1 quarter-pound Double Cheeseburger prove this strategy delivers a superior sandwich at an exceptional value," Kappitt told Nation's Restaurant News.

I had an Angus burger from McDonalds last night that wasn't even hot enough to melt the cheese. When I was just about finished it still hadn't melted. I pitched the last few bites. There was a outstanding Burger King on US 52 and I-35 in Liberty MO. that serves great food, day or night no matter what time of day you pull in. This is the way it oughta be. Ya listenin guys?

There is also a fish sandwhich and 2 kinds of salad plus a veggie burger (which is a vegetarian option and is not cooked in the fryers).
The kinds of chicken are tendergrill, tendercrisp, chicken fries, spicy chicken, original chicken and (for breakfast) there is a chicken fritter.
