Homemade Applesauce for Baking - Tip of the Day

The beginning of fall marks the height of apple season. Why not make some fresh applesauce and get baking?

Applesauce is one of the easiest and tastiest things you can make with this season's crop. The fruity mash also offers an added perk: Fall means cooler air, and the chill makes for perfect baking weather. You may have all the ingredients you need, but try an applesauce substitution and bake up some sinfully apple-flavored treats. It's a great way to make truly homemade fare while also infusing the house with sweet apple and cinnamon smells.
