Two Kids Eat Free Promotion at Boston Market

No kidding -- national restaurant chains are increasingly hungry for family business.

Boston Market will now let more than one child eat for free with an adult. In the "Two Kids Eat Free" promotion, customers get two free Kids' Meals with a $6 minimum adult purchase.

The Boston Market Kids' Meal, which usually costs around $4, comes with a choice of entree (mac n' cheese, chicken drumstick, rotisserie turkey or meatloaf), a small side, cornbread and a kid's size soft drink or milk.

The chain will also offer up to four free Kids' Meals with the purchase of a Family Meal.

The promotion runs through Halloween, Oct. 31, and is available for dine-in, take-out or drive-thru for kids 14 and under.

"We decided that it doesn't help the parent if the restaurant makes them come at a time that's convenient for the restaurant," Boston Market chief executive Lane Cardwell told Slashfood. "We decided to throw the rules out -- we opened the promotion up to every day of the week and every hour we're open."

While no coupon is required, the kids must be present to claim the free meals. According to the restaurant's Web site, "We want to see their smiling faces!"

Boston Market is the latest to incorporate a "kids eat free" policy to encourage families to dine out in these tough economic times, following the likes of Captain D's, Denny's and IHOP, although those chains had more restrictions.

I live in Saratoga Springs, NY and we have a very nice and very clean Boston Market that I visit occasionally. The food is always fresh and the employees are friendly and efficient. I understand that all chain restaurants are individual franchises and some are better than others. If you aren't familiar with the one in your area at least step inside and judge for yourself.
