Jennifer Aniston Wants to Serve You Mexican Food

You may soon have a "Friend" in the restaurant biz.

We told you back in August that Jennifer Aniston was considering opening up her very own eatery. And on Tuesday night's "Late Night with Conan O'Brien," the sitcom-turned-movie star confirmed our report, revealing she wants to open a Mexican restaurant in New York City.

The reason why might surprise you.

"Cause I love Mexican food, and usually a great night is had in a Mexican restaurant, no?" Aniston told O'Brien on Sept. 15.

Aniston told the late-night host she's "always wanted to open a restaurant" and that "New York needs a Mexican -- New York City needs a great [Mexican restaurant]."

The actress is no stranger to the New York City restaurant scene: Back in the day, her father owned the Fives in Gotham.

And like many struggling actors, Aniston waitressed for "a good couple of years" before she became an A-lister. She said she'd even be up for reliving those pre-glory days by guest-waitressing on occasion.

"I think it would be fun once in a while," Aniston admitted.

Slashfood asked our readers if they would give Chef Aniston a shot and 67 percent of you said "yes!" Now, we want to know if you'd want the Hollywood starlet to take your margarita order.

Would you want to be waited on by Jennifer?

    Justin Timberlake: Southern Hospitality

Celebrity-owned restaurants have always been popular; however, they're singing a new tune now that musicians are in on the act. Justin Timberlake brought "Sexy Back" last summer and this year he's bringing Southern cooking to New York's Upper East Side with his new restaurant, Southern Hospitality. The menu features all his favorite Memphis, Tenn., home-cooked meals, including pulled pork, macaroni & cheese, his grandmother's pecan pie and maybe even a tasty glimpse of the heartthrob himself.

    Queen Latifah: Fatburger

Queen Latifah can claim a long list of accomplishments: Grammy Award winner, Covergirl spokeswoman, Pizza Hut spokeswoman and actress. Now she can add franchise owner to the list. Rumor has it that the Queen wants to open up a branch of the burger joint in South Beach in Miami, Florida. Queen Latifah, always one to embrace her full figure, is sure to point out the name's aptness before any critics can.

Toby Keith: I Love This Bar & Grill

It's no surprise that Toby Keith's enthusiastically titled hit song, 'I Love This Bar,' became the moniker of his restaurant in Las Vegas, Nevada. Located inside Harrah's, I Love This Bar & Grill features live music and dancing every night. And what goes hand-in-hand with country music? That's right, down-home grub such as Southern fried chicken, burgers, BBQ ribs and Keith's favorite, fried bologna sandwich on Texas bread, can all be found on the menu.

    Jennifer Lopez: Madres

While most celebrities have little to do with the workings of building a restaurant, before Jennifer Lopez's restaurant closed its doors in the summer of 2008, she played a crucial role in the design and creation of hers. The menu, which was inspired by her grandmother, featured hearty Cuban dishes such as empanadas, Arroz con Pollo and her favorite, Ropa Vieja.

    Jay-Z: 40/40 Club

Jay-Z opened his multilevel New York City sports bar and lounge in 2003. The 40/40 Club, named after the three players that can claim both 40 home runs and 40 stolen bases in one season, has been officially described as "12,000 square feet of pure sports entertainment in an opulent lounge setting." Pro athletes often entertain at the 40/40, thanks to the private rooms featuring 60-inch plasma televisions, PlayStations and Xboxes, pool tables and Italian leather wrap-around couches. For fans looking to catch some post-game Yankees lounging around, this is a big league destination.

    Moby: Teany

Moby has created the ideal restaurant in New York City for mixed carnivore-vegan outings with Teany. The musician wanted a place "wherein everyone feels comfortable, regardless of whether they're vegetarian or vegan or carnivore or what have you." Teany features 98 different teas and menu items such as a goat cheese and artichoke salad or a vegan BLT made with tempeh bacon, but fear not, meat lovers; the sandwich is also available with real pig.

    Britney Spears: NYLA

OK, so NYLA is no longer in existence, but it was for a very short while in 2002 fronted by Britney Spears. The NYC-meets-New Orleans joint was doomed from the start with reports of hygiene violations, food poisoning and even the stabbing of a customer. The pop star did not lend any money, and thus wasn't an actual owner, but in the music and restaurant biz, name and image equal money. Restaurant ownership may not be something Britney will consider hitting one more time in the future.
