Recall on Paula Deen's Cast Iron Pans

Photo: Rachel Been
It's a recall, y'all!

The New York Times reports that Paula Deen's QVC-exclusive line of cast iron cookware is being voluntarily recalled after consumer complaints of pans shattering and cracking during heating. Meyer Trading Corporation, the manufacturer of the pans, alerted the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission of the issue in July, prompting QVC's recall letters to purchasers in August.

The CPSC will announce the recall on its Web site this coming Monday. Consumers may remain confident that Deen's "Butt Massage" flavoring rub is still safe for consumption.

She has talent in cooking and making people feel good. Recalls happen everyday for all merchandise. It isn't her fault the manufacturer screwed up. Instead of being so quick to down her, give her the benefit of the doubt. I find it hard to believe she would knowingly hurt anyone.

Phillip, the "idiot", as you call her, is a multi-millionaire who got where she is through a lifetime of hard work and challenges, and, for the most part, her sons have been right there with her all the way. It sounds like you're jealous. Hey, it's not HER fault that you're not handsome and rich!

I've never heard of a pan that shattered.
I love Paula Dean. I wanted to go on the Paula Dean reality bus tour in Georgia to where she was born, and her nice church. My sister went on the Paula Dean pilgrimage bus tour to the Paula Dean restaurant. I love Red Velvet Cake. And whip cream. And butter. And sugar. Why do the pots get all stained up ? Will the stains come out ?

She has no idea if a product is good or bad. She's in it for the money, get it folks? She is a cook not a cookware designer. Use some common sense please.

Nor does she make any of the products whose goods she ads her name to for marketing.
So if you have a problem with the pots & pans, do some research and find out the maker and complain to them. Most likely they will be made by a foreign mfg. That's how America does business today. They depend upon some foreign maker of everything, and their products are forever faulty.

Paula doesn't care as long as the money keeps rolling in so she can wear more and more diamonds on her fingers. This cornpone woman with the awful Southern accent and tacky wigs is not genuine. I am a Southerner and I know of no one who admires her phoney act.

I also have bought many of her spices and dressings. I love Paula, she is real and not a phoney like so many others. Her smile, laugh and sense of humor always cheer you up. She is an American success story it is as simple as that. If you don't like her then turn the channel and shut the hell up.

My 10 year old granddaughter said she doesn't like the way "that lady talks". Her recipes aren't anything above the norm ... her son's favorite goulash is almost tasteless.

These are extremely lightweight, oven-safe, anodized, easy to clean pans that I use at home and for my customers. They heat evenly; clean up is a breeze; there is no effort in lifting them, such as with Calphalon or other heavier-weight pans. don't go with name brands just because its the name...get what works for you! Try lloydpans.com!

I worked with a man whose favorite saying was "It only costs a little more to go first class", and that's no longer true. If you want a high quality durable product, the cost is exorbitant, and your grandchildren would have to utilize to realize the benefit of the cost differential over purchasing the cheap junk every 1-5 years. It amazes me that advertisers still use the mantra of "new and improved", when throughout the course of my existence, virtually all products in the consumer market have become lower in quality.
