Tuna Salad Fresca - Tip of the Day

Why is it that we only grab canned tuna when it's sandwich time?

When it comes to tuna salad, most cooks never stray far from the can. They might spice things up with fancy additions like aioli and chives, but they're still relying on the same ol' fish.

But why only go halfway with your culinary adventures? Next time, leave the can in the pantry and pick up some fresh tuna steaks. Grill them, dice 'em up and make the salad as usual. It's as simple as that. Cans are handy, but beautiful fresh fish can offer up a whole new realm of seaworthy flavor.
