Waffle House to Honor Loyal Customers

If the local Waffle House just happens to be your second home, this is your week!

The chain, based in Norcross, Ga., is celebrating National Waffle Week by honoring its patrons -- those regulars who often duck in for a fix of T-bones, country ham, cheese 'n eggs and waffles.

Through Sept. 12, local Waffle Houses will be awarding their Top 20 customers with "Official Regular" pins, and more than 31,000 customers are expected to be honored at the chain's approximately 1,550 restaurants.

And as it's National Waffle Week, Waffle House is also rolling out a new flavor.

The banana-nut waffle is made with buttermilk, banana nougat and nuts. The new menu item joins a lineup of waffle flavors that include blueberry, chocolate chip, pecan-chocolate chip, strawberry, pecan and traditional sweet cream.

For those who think they can polish off more than one waffle, some Waffle Houses will be holding waffle-eating contests throughout the week.

We had to keep our tips in a cup because they said it controlled theft. From who? My tips were stolen all the time but it was never the managements problem. Our store trained managers to move on up to higher positions. So I was used to getting new managers. We got 2 new manager trainess that were so bad and theives. The female trainee called me to the back and called the male trainee to the back too. I was cussed up and down for saying I was having a bad day and backed into the corner of the office. When I complained the district manager said "Gee, I'd hate to see you lose your carreer over that." And suspended me for a week. I'm attacked and suspended. I finally quit because my Dr. said the stress was too much for my blood pressure and was going to kill me. To make things worse the district manager stole 4 days of my credit card tips.

I come here and this fat, nasty, fat and mental employee(history of mental illnness) decided to be off her roceker that night and jump in my face and shove me, I left when I couldn't get the Manager or District. What else would you do, stay and put up with the abuse. I am not young, she is and also the manager's friend. I get fired but she doesn't. I kept that place clean as a pen. it now looks like crap. Where is loyalty to the good employees that has a longivity with a company and no problems. I used to be District Manager ikn Alabama and had no problems. Go figure. Waffle House seems to take care of the bad seeds and turn away the good. I have seen it more than once and I loved my job. But I had to go. I have heart problems and did not need to go into fighting at my age and in my health.

You were fired because you walked out in the middle of your shift.

As to never having problems with other employees, you had problems with us all as you loved to talk about everyone behind their back.

The store looks excellant, we are always cleaning, and as proof many customers say it is the cleanest Waffle House they have ever been in. Why do we clean it? Because we work and eat there too.

Gone from Waffle House, but you are still attempting to cause problems for the people working there.

Please remember that Waffle House also franchises out stores and these stores might be those. They do have in-house policing as in being investigated for wrong doing from corporate and these people should have called the 800 number. They did themselves a great disservice and now here are more bad WH jokes.

Now I live in New England where I can not find a Waffle House but always seek one out when I travel in the South.

My last visit to a Waffle House was in Maryland where I witnessed a text book case of good management. The pace was as hectic as it could be but the staff acted in such a fluid and cohesive manner that it was impossible to tell who was in charge. No directions were given and the only sounds from the staff were the passing of food orders and some occasional banter.

When the pace slackened I asked to speak to the manager and was surprised to be speaking to a crew member who appeared to be minimally observant of what was happening around him. I asked how he had built such a smooth operation and he said respect for the crew was the starting point. The way the crew worked together showed they respected each other.

Working at a Waffle House looks like a tough way to make a living and I respect those that are able to maintain the pace.

I always look forward to having another meal there when I am in the neighborhood. I have no affiliation with the chain, I simply like the food and admire the way the restaurants are operated.

The problem was the nasty ass customers who came in and trashed the place every weekend, like a bunch of animals. I hated cleaning up after these idiots.

I support Waffle House 110%. Those that have nothing good to say about WH should not comment at all. As my Mom always said .. "if you can't say anything nice don't say anything at all".

I now live in Central California and there are no "Awful Waffles" and I sure miss them, they need to open some here! Also they need to change the lemon pie back to how it was about 10 years ago the new ones aren't as good!

But now, some of the local Waffle House restaurants are being held up at gun point! Makes me feel really safe to go out and eat there. And these are CORPORATE stores people, not franchises. Atlanta is riddled with crime, and having a location being held up at gun point while I'm trying to enjoy my pork chop & egg breakfast... well, let's just say, it's NOT A GOOD MIX.
