Burger King announced Tuesday that it is teaming up with ConAgra Foods Lamb Weston to launch a line of microwaveable Burger King-branded crinkle-cut french fries nationwide this fall. It seems now, you can "have it your way" in the comfort of your own home.
Burger King's microwaveable seasoned crinkle-cut fries, dubbed "King Krinkz" will be the first product in the line to hit stores, including Wal-Mart, in early September. King Kolossalz extra-large crinkle-cut fries and King Wedgez seasoned potato wedges will be released shortly after the King Krinkz hit stores.
"Now consumers can enjoy King- fries at home, in an easy-to-prepare, microwaveable format that's perfect for today's busy families," Sharon Miller, vice president of retail sales for ConAgra Foods Lamb Weston, said in a release.
The Krinkz are microwaved in and eaten out of Burger King's signature "Frypod" -- a box that resembles those used at Burger King drive-ins.
ConAgra Foods Lamb Weston owns various other frozen french fry product lines such as Alexia and Rus Ettes. This isn't Burger King's first foray in the grocery aisle. The company already has a line of fast-food themed potato chips with flavors like "Ketchup & Fries" and "Flamed Broiled Burger."

Crinkle-cut has always been a turn off for me. I generally hate BK, but their fries are good. This is a definite no for me. I sincerely hope that Burger King is not planning to implement crinkle-cut style fries in their locations. That would be the final nail in the coffin, imo.

Fries aside, I quit visiting BK when the chain STOPPED freshly flamebroiling their hamburger patties. I used to LOVE Whoppers, but now they are just microwaved bland shadows of their former selves.
Get with it, BK ... it's the FOOD, stupid.
