In April, the Green State became the fourth in the nation to allow gays and lesbians to marry.
"From the very beginning of our 30 year history, we have supported equal rights for all people," Walt Freese, Ben & Jerry's CEO, said in a statement. "The legalization of marriage for gay and lesbian couples in Vermont is certainly a step in the right direction and something worth celebrating with peace, love and plenty of ice cream."
But the move by Ben & Jerry's is largely a symbolic one. There are no plans to produce pints of ice cream with the Hubby Hubby label.
Sean Greenwood, a spokesman for the company, told the Boston Herald it takes 18 months to revise a product label.
Hubby Hubby sundaes, though, will be sold at Vermont Ben & Jerry's all month long.

That said, it's nice that Ben & Jerry's has made this symbolic little gesture.

The results showed that Democrats and Independents reported ‘happiness’ and ‘inspiration’ as the emotions they felt most during the ad while Republicans reported ‘disturbed’ and ‘happiness’ as the emotions they felt most while viewing the ad. The study also found that 83% of Democrats, 77% of Independents, and 58% of Republicans indicated that the ad was effective. The article didnt say it takes 18 months to update it nationally, they said it can take up to 18 months to revise it, meaning to finalize and approve the actual design. If you really had experience in the product package design field, you might have known that.

That is just nasty to the max that they would promote that lifestyle with icecream. I am sick of liberals trying to make something that is wrong, and should still be seen as wrong, as ok. It's not ok. It is not right. Quit ramming that crap down my throat.

Joann, agallagher, jw: If it offends you so much that gay people like each other that you don't want to eat ice cream, that's your own problem, really.

Would that be the one where you can marry as many women as you can afford to support, because that is the biblical definition of marriage. Polygamy is supported by the bible. So many men of the bible were polygamists. And exactly what is a concubine? Would that be a woman you can have sex with without marrying and your wife can't say anything about it? I call that a girlfriend for a swinger. 1st Timothy gives the qualification for a minister or elder depending on your translation. It says he must be the husband of one wife. If it weren't common for christians to have multiple wive's this wouldn't have to be mentioned. Enough bigotry. The bible is subject to interpretation and unless you read the original languages you are relying on someone else for your translation. I'm not a Mormon, I'm not anything, I just know the bible better than most christians.

People love ice cream and if they see something like this on the ice cream labels, there will be a gradual acceptance of people who love the same sex. I totally believe that they should be given every right to love another person, be it male or female. There isn't enough love in the world, don't tear down some of the few people that have actually found it.
