Though a few responses are cultural markers ("The Princess Bride," Elton John, Michael Jackson), we are seeing a slew of food-related numbers pop up there, from shrimp to melons to coffee to oysters. So now's your chance. Pop on over and express your loathing in pictoral form. Maybe grab some coffee first. Or don't, if that's how you roll.

But with all the other magical cuisines in the world- Vietnamese, French, Spanish, Thai, to name a few- why do Americans fixate on the crapulence of Italy? (I lived outside Milan for a while, so yes, I have had "authentic" Italian food)

Ice cream is too cold and too sweet. I learned to like peanuts. I still haven't learned to like peanut butter.

I loathe baked beans, cole slaw, watermelon and iced tea (any kind - sweetened, unsweetened, from a mix or brewed). I've always hate peanut butter - that much loved classic - as well. This caused no end of uproar when I was a child. Don't like the taste, the smell - don't even want to touch the stuff.

I think this stems from the fact that my little sister ate dill pickles obsessively as a child (she'd drink the juice, too) and her breath always reeked of dill. So I associate the scent of the herb with her bad breath. (An aside: she has serious stomach problems now.)

If you hate sushi because it tastes like "two day old fish", you've had bad sushi.
