Make the Most of Dried Herbs -- Tip of the Day

It's easy to spice up a dish straight from a jar, but there's one more thing you should do before herbs hit your food.

Shaking out the contents of an herb jar on to your food risks having them clump up as little beads of moisture make their way into the jar, but there's another more important reason to add an extra step -- achieving optimal flavor. Yes, a simple shake will result in a tasty spray, but that's nothing compared to quickly rubbing them between your fingers before they hit the dish.

There's lots of essential oils and flavor locked in those dried leaves, and it would be a shame to leave them locked inside, wouldn't it?
