Kid Rock Launches American Badass Beer

Kid Rock has a new gig. Rock star turned brewmaster, Robert Ritchie (better known as Kid Rock), will debut his American Badass Beer this weekend for concertgoers in his native Detroit's Comerica Park, where he will perform two shows. They don't call it Detroit Rock City for nothing.

The rock star is partnering with Drinks Americas to launch the line that will be produced in-state at the Michigan Brewing Company in Webberville, Mich.

Kid Rock describes his "American Badass Beer" as an easy to drink lager with no aftertaste.

"I'm American, that's what I like to drink, and from looking around the parking lot before my shows, I know that's what my fans drink," Kid Rock told the Detroit Free Press.

Drinks Americas' CEO, J. Patrick Kenny, revealed to the Detroit Free Press that 12- and 22-ounce bottles of the Badass brew will be sold throughout Michigan in August. After Michigan, the brew is expected to debut in Ohio, Texas, Nevada, Tennessee and California, and then nationwide by 2010.

According to a February Drinks Americas press release, the Michigan Brewing Co. planned to invest $7 million in the rock star's new product line and "will add jobs."

Nevertheless, Slashfood wants to know if the brew will get a standing ovation or booed offstage -- would you try it?

How do you think Kid Rock's beer will taste?

What a waste of talent. The beer should be named American Sad Ass beer. If he doesn't stop drinking, one of these days we'll be reading his obituary when his liver konks out on him. Truly Sad!

Kid Rock is a very talented musician, who speaks of drinking and drugs in his music as he has experienced these things growing p from where he came from. Kid Rock is a very versatile musician that plays many instruments, writes and performs all his own musicians is probably one of the most dedicated and giving people when it comes to performing and helping our American troops abroad. He now has an American made and brewed beer which has created many jobs to the Detroit area and for that I personally give him "props" and salute his fortitude for making that happen. I hope American Bad Ass Beer is an astounding success and he sells millions of case worldwide! I know one thing, we as American soldiers salute him for all the work and entertainment and joy he has brought us with his visits. All the Best to you Kid Rock, William

He was just voted #1 Country entertainer and got video of the year...Kid Rock has been touring all over the world and has never stopped, now has an album that is on the top 25 continuously for over a year and has been in the limelight for many years with his touring and charitable work and contributions to our troops. Before you guys say how lame and washed up he is, get your facts straight and maybe we all need to take a step back and think about what "WE" have done for society also before condemning someone for making a success of himself. But there again thats why most of those comments do come from people who do not listen to KID's music or you would not think that way and I personally feel sorry for your closed mindness...........
Anyway ...........I just hope It is sold at the VA concert so I can try...............
Love kid rock and keep up doing what you do and not giving a ---- about what people think..........

Even funnier? Walking around the stadium no less than 10 times counting brought up that it outsold Bud, Miller, Coors combined by over 3 to 1.

Take peek at just one of 15 kiosks in the park. Go Kid, it seems you're doing just fine without the nayzzzzzzzzzzzz.

He fought to have the beer brewed in Michigan to adds jobs and keep it local. He's a strong supporter of Detroit and Michigan.

However - they had the beer at the shows both nights, and even sold out at local bars. The beer is not flavored enough to be considered a lager - but has too much after-taste, unlike regular-joe beer. I've heard that squeezint an orange in it helps. ??? Although I don't care for it much - I'll still drink it. I like to consider it and investment going toward Junior's college years.

I've seen him about 15 times, and never once did he appear drunk or stoned. If he were drunk or otherwise impared, he could not do the fantastic job he does. Go Kid Rock! Oh, and ccould you bring me some beer when you come out west? '-)

Wow, a lot of people are talking bad about this, but as I see it he is the one who is a multi-million dollar man, and the rest of you are sitting here on your computers wishing you were as successful as him. Not only is he a multi-platinum selling artist but a great business man. What is the point in knocking a man who is living the American dream? Is it perhaps because you would rather be in his shoes instead of your own?
