Burger King confirmed Wednesday a plan to mail out $1 double cheeseburger coupons in August and September to nearly 80 million households nationwide. The move comes after franchisees vetoed a proposal to offer the double cheeseburger at that price on in-store menus.
Nation's Restaurant News reports that franchise owners rejected the original promotion to sell the double cheeseburger at $1 for four months -- and also later rejected a revised promotion plan to sell the $1 doubles for six weeks.
The franchise owners rejected the $1 promotion due to worries that another buck-priced sandwich could cause more customers to trade down from higher-priced items on the menu. Burger King already features a $1 Whopper Jr. sandwich.
"Burger King Corp. remains fully focused on its value offerings and delivering value for the money to its guests," Burger King told Slashfood. "As such, any product and menu options are always in development and under consideration."
Burger King will now offer the original plan of $1 double cheeseburgers but only through mailed-out coupons. The direct mail coupon book includes a $1 Double Cheeseburger offer as well as $50 in other coupons.

So whatever your opinion, there are people who don't care about the little crap and hope that someone likes the food enough to be a return customer. Thanks for complaining!!!!!!!

"The BK around the corner from my office charges for water...25 cents for the cup. I questioned them asking if you are going to charge for something it has to show it on the menu. They said they have been told by the store owner to charge. I told them to take there burgers and stuff them where the light does not shine. I walked over to Wendys. A better burger anyway."
If you think that's bad, my local BK charges for extra ketchup packets in the drive thru.

Also, I agree with the person who says BK microwaves their burgers. It really ruins their product. That's why I always ask them to please not microwave my order. They do so to melt the cheese, but I can deal with my cheese not being melted in order to preserve the flavor.
BK also has some of the worst bacon in all of the industry. You can tell it's peeled off of wax paper. I wouldn't be surprised if it was squirted from a tube onto said paper. I just out right terrible.
