Growing Herbs Indoors - Tip of the Day

When there's not enough light for green herbs to thrive indoors, you don't need to invest in an expensive grow lamp. These days, all you need is the right bulb. Most hardware stores that carry a large selection of lights will have just what you need, or you can find a whole selection over at Amazon.

But don't get just any variety. As Home Harvest explains, the best lights are fluorescents. Just make sure you keep it close to the greenery: "The trick to using them successfully is to keep standard fluorescent bulbs no further than 4 inches away from the tops of the plants."
