Simple syrup: It's just as easy to make as its name implies.

There's a reason they call it "simple" syrup. The concoction, which is a godsend for many a mixed drink, is really easy to make. Just combine equal parts of sugar and water (usually 1 cup) in a saucepan, bring it to a boil, stir until it's clear, then let it cool and throw it in a jar.
Simple syrup can be used in many tasty cocktails, plus homemade sodas, teas, and, as
Martha Stewart explains, it can even be infused with extra flavors like ginger and citrus.
Isn't that simple? (Sorry, we couldn't resist!)
