It's National Doughnut Day. Celebrate what must surely be Homer Simpson's favorite holiday with a free doughnut. Participating Krispy Kremes are offering a free one to customers, and Dunkin' Donuts will give a free doughnut to anyone who buys a beverage. All you jackalopes out there will have to buy your own.

I found a list of store in Dallas participate in the celebration of national donut day 2009.

National Donut Day is on the first Friday of June each year. The holiday celebrates the doughnut (a.k.a "donut") %u2014 an edible, ring-shaped piece of dough which is deep-fried and sweetened. Many American doughnut stores offer free doughnuts on National Doughnut Day. In 2009, both independent doughnut shops and large national franchises offered free doughnuts in the United States
