Fruiting Your Salad - Tip of the Day

We always toss deliciously fresh fruit into desserts, but do you ever throw some into your salads?

Fruit salad is its own wonderful concoction, but you can create similar magic by adding fruit to the salads served before dessert. Most fruits, such as bananas, oranges, citrus and strawberries, work quite well, pairing well not only with veggies, but also with cheese toppings like feta and cheddar.

To give the mix an extra sweet kick, trade in your regular vinaigrette for a raspberry-flavored punched up with fresh berries to add a rich, sweet layer of flavor. Pasta salads can also benefit from fruity mixtures like apples and grapes or apples with pears and dried cranberries, and potato salads do well with a nice sprinkling of pomegranate. The possibilities are endless!
