I love Chicago dogs (well, us normal people), especially Vienna Beef. Why a town with several universities/colleges does not have a franchise is beyond me? We don't even have a White Castle... go figure (not a fan anyway). The best hot dog I have found is actually at Sam's Club snack shop. A huge Nathan's dog and a huge fountain drink for $1.83 tax included. They have fresh onions, mustard, relish and Frank's slaw to top. There is ketchup too but I'm at a loss as to what they sell requires it. No fries on the menu, pizza has ketchup on it already...? I wish I could just buy the glow in the dark relish and sport peppers, I think I could fake the rest.... almost! There is really no excuse. We have more restaurants per person in this town than most places, several of many franchises but Vienna Beef, White Castle, Dunken Donuts... all the things I miss are absent. So I dream and glean ideas through sites like this one.
