Giada De Laurentiis: Rachael Ray and I Are Not BFFs

giada de laurentiis and rachael ray

All those rumors of a foodie feud between TV's perky cooking-show hosts are false, according to a new report.

Giada De Laurentiis tells Redbook magazine that she and Rachael Ray get along, though they're not best friends.

"Do we hang out all the time? No. Are we best friends? No," De Laurentiis told the magazine for its June issue.

"We laugh about it," De Laurentiis said. "We do these festivals together, and she'll say to me, 'Oh, we'd better take a picture together and smile, because if we don't, God only knows what's going to get written about us.' She's a lovely person."

And Ray is the first to admit she's exactly that, a talented amateur. She shines in these high-pressure, extemporaneous situations exactly because she's the go-to gal for quick and tasty.

Giada on the other hand is a classically trained Chef. She is drop dead gorgeous. An awesome woman.

A feud between them is unlikely. Appreciate what they each have to offer. There is room for them both. ENJOY!

Actually, the special episode was a holiday one with Rachael and Paula Dean, but in an earlier episode Rachael Ray teamed up with Mario Batali against Giada, who was teamed with Bobby Flay. Mario and Rachael won. I don't believe Rachael is divorced at this point in time.

Actually, I think there was some kind of dessert special thing she did with Paula, but it wasn't against Giada. And yes...it did seem that Giada was miffed at losing.

I must admit I donwlaod a lot more I Giada's recipes, especially for special occassions but if I need a meal in a hurry Rachael is the way to go. As for if they get along...who cares they are people and no one gets along with everyone that just isn't natural

To me, both are good cooks, but Giada's plunging necklines need to be raised a little. Sometimes Rachel's need to be raised a little, too. I like to watch cooking shows, but "boob" shows belong somewhere else. There are enough "boob" shows in the supermarket aisles.

How refreshing to raed a man's comment about "a place for boobs"....

I love Giada. She is a beautiful lady and her cooking is fabulous. I agree with you about the constant show of boobs. Seems out of place in the kitchen.

I like Rachel Ray and she is very down to earth, which makes her very attractive.

They each have their own cooking styles and each are good at what they do. I am not really a fan of either of theirs. I mean I don't hate them it is just I don't really get into cooking shows so much that I would get excited about a battle between these two. In my opinion...Giada is probably a little jealous of all Rachaels success. And if everyone wants to keep touching base on looks...Rachael is cute as a button and is the typical all American girl next door while Giada well lets just say she is about a 7 on a 10 scale.
